Jake Fraser-McGurk, after being overlooked for the World Cup in the West Indies and USA next month has been finally included as a travelling reserve.

Australian cricket team coach Andrew McDonald has said that charismatic young batter Jake Fraser-McGurk and all-rounder Matthew Short have been added as travelling reserves with the squad for the T20 World Cup because they bring something different to the table.
Fraser-McGurk, 22, in only his debut IPL season, gave an excellent display of explosive batsmanship for Delhi Capitals smashing four half-centuries in nine games at an astronomical strike rate exceeding 234.
Fraser-McGurk scored 330 runs, including 32 boundaries and 28 maximums, prompting several Australian greats to pitch for his inclusion in the 15-member squad. But after being overlooked for the World Cup in the West Indies and USA next month, he has been finally included as a travelling reserve.
"I think they're (Fraser-McGurk and Short) slightly different in what they offer. Fraser is an out-and-out opener and the way we've grown Matthew Short into the team is through the middle order and that spin (bowling) ability as well," McDonald told Sen Radio.
McDonald indicated that Short could come in handy in the event of Glenn Maxwell getting injured.
"We feel like he's (Short) a spinning all-rounder much like Glenn Maxwell if anything should move there, and Jake Fraser-McGurk is an out-and-out top-order player," added McDonald.
The two reserves will, however, not be able to play unless there is an injury in the squad.
The Australian team is set to fly out for the World Cup on Wednesday.
"Both are exciting, I think they both add a lot.
"Those guys sit outside of the 15, the only way they can come onto the selection table is if there was to be an injury, we've got two options there depending on what we lose or what may unfold in terms of injuries," McDonald added.

The coach said that apart from the two players, Australia had several other options as well, should a player in the 15-member squad get injured or indisposed.
"We've also got some other options in Spencer Johnson, and Xavier Bartlett that are playing in the UK as well, so if we were to lose a bowler those guys are up and running in the UK&hellip; and they can come in, it's only a short flight into the West Indies from England.
On opener David Warner's fitness concerns, McDonald said the 37-year-old was doing fine.
"No, not at this stage. We believe he's fully fit, everything he says is he's fully fit, we know that he missed the last game for Delhi (Capitals in IPL), clearly that was a selection mechanism there with the way they want to play late in the tournament, I think he played the second last round... we have no fears he won't be fit and fully available.." Australia play their opening group stage match against Oman in Barbados on June 6.

The big-hitting Jake Fraser McGurk and Matthew Short are likely to be Australia's travelling reserves for the T20 World Cup which begins on June 1.
The 22-year-old McGurk has been in blazing form for Delhi Capitals in the IPL.
But the top-order batter, who is yet to make his T20I debut, missed out on the 15-member provisional squad because Australia already have an established top three in David Warner, Travis Head and captain Mitchell Marsh.
Batting all-rounder Short, on the other hand, played nine of Australia's last 14 T20Is, opening in five of them and he was also the Big Bash League player of the tournament in back-to-back seasons.
"Australia's chair of selectors George Bailey had suggested that Australia would carry just one reserve to the Caribbean when the provisional squad was announced, but they are likely to add a second with the in-form Fraser-McGurk set to be named alongside Short," ESPNCricinfo reported.
The Australian World Cup squad will fly to the Caribbean on Thursday for a training camp in Trinidad that will include two practice matches against Namibia and West Indies on May 28 and 30 respectively.
Head, Cameron Green, Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc and Glenn Maxwell, who are all locked to play in the IPL playoffs, will join the squad later.
Players like Marsh, Warner, Agar, Josh Hazlewood, Adam Zampa, Matthew Wade, Nathan Ellis and Josh Inglis have played little cricket since the end of the Australian domestic summer in March.
Under ICC rules, only players named in the 15-man squad can compete in the warm-up fixtures.
"Marsh, Hazlewood, Inglis, Zampa and Agar have all trained in Brisbane over the past fortnight along with Short. Marsh is understood to have recovered from his hamstring injury but he is still yet to bowl," the report added.

"The communication was really good. There's two ways you can look at it. You can look at it through, 'this is what I've done to prove my case,' and then there's also, 'look, a month and a half ago I wasn't even in the picture.'" Fraser-McGurk said in the Willow Talk podcast.
"They probably had a good idea of what [the squad] was a month and a half ago, trying to build that and get the connection in the team. And it's also hard to fit in. You've got David Warner, our best opener ever in three formats. You've got Travis Head, who is lighting it up over here and has lit it up over the past 18 months. And then Mitch Marsh is the same and he's also the captain," The 22-year-old added.
"I can't really see myself batting five or six because we're pretty set there with Tim David, Cam Green and those sort of blokes. That's the way I think about it. That's fine. There's hopefully going to be more time for that," Fraser-McGurk said.
"If I do somehow get a travelling reserve [spot] then great, I can get a good experience there," he further added.
&ldquo;It didn&rsquo;t really bother me a hell of a lot because I wasn&rsquo;t in this position to sort of .... feel like I&rsquo;ve earned that yet. World Cup cricket is a lot different to IPL and franchise cricket," he concluded.
