Afghanistan's Taliban government on Wednesday firmly rejected media reports about the presence of Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) chief Masood Azhar in the war-torn country, saying such terrorist organisations can operate on Pakistan's soil - and even under official patronage.
The Taliban's interim Afghan government spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid made the strongly-worded remarks after a section of Pakistani media reported about Azhar's alleged presence in Afghanistan. They claimed that Pakistan has also sent a letter with demand to hand him over to Islamabad.
"We have written a one-page letter to the Afghan foreign ministry, asking them to locate, report and arrest Masood Azhar, as we believe that he is hiding somewhere in (eastern Nangarhar province) Afghanistan,” The News reported on Tuesday, quoting a top Pakistani foreign ministry official.
Mujahid in an interview with Afghanistan's ToloNews said that he has seen the news in the media. "But this is not true. Nobody has made such a demand from us,” Mujahid said.
"Jaish-e-Mohammad chief is not in Afghanistan. Such organisations can operate on Pakistan's soil – and even under official patronage," Mujahid said. "We’ll not allow anyone to use Afghanistan’s soil against any other country." In a separate statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Taliban government also rejected media reports that JeM chief had sought refuge in Afghanistan.
"We reiterate that the IEA (Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan) does not allow any armed opposition in its territory to operate against any other country," said Abdul Qahar Balkhi, the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Taliban government.
"Also, we ask all parties to refrain from making baseless claims in such cases without documents and evidence," he said, warning that such media claims can negatively affect bilateral relations.
Azhar is a fugitive released by India in exchange for passengers of the hijacked Indian Airlines plane IC-814 in 1999. He was serving a prison term in India for kidnappings of Western tourists in the country.
After his release in 1999, Azhar formed the JeM and scripted many audacious terror strikes in India.
Pakistan has banned the JeM which is accused by India of several terrorist attacks, including the Pulwama attack in February 2019, which brought Pakistan and India to the brink of a nuclear exchange.
In May 2019, the United Nations designated Azhar a "global terrorist" after China lifted its hold on a proposal to blacklist the Pakistan-based JeM chief, a decade after New Delhi approached the world body for the first time on the issue.
The UN committee listed Azhar on May 1, 2019 as being associated with Al-Qaeda for "participating in the financing, planning, facilitating, preparing, or perpetrating of acts or activities by, in conjunction with, under the name of, on behalf of, or in support of", "supplying, selling or transferring arms and related material to", "recruiting for", "otherwise supporting acts or activities of", and "other acts or activities indicating association with" the JeM.

The blast which took place hours before Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Jammu and Kashmir may have been an IED dropped by a drone, according to an India Today reporting quoting sources. 
The report also said that security forces are also probing whether a drone could have dropped an IED, close to the venue of the prime minister’s rally.
India Today quote a top officer as saying that terror groups like Jaish and LeT could have deployed drones to stop the rally from taking place.
A mysterious blast was reported in an agriculture field on the outskirts of Jammu on Sunday hours before PM’s arrival. The police had then said that the explosion may have been a result of a meteorite or lightning

He was told that one of their associates would bring 2 terrorists to him. He had to keep them at his house, then take them to a nearby security camp or post for an attack. We identified Bilal Ahmad Wagay who was given a different task of picking the terrorists from Samba area. He was to take them to Shafique Ahmad Shaikh. He did that. He picked the terrorists up on April 20 night and took them to Shafique Ahmad Shaikh."
Singh added, "We got an alert and cordoned the area. Next day an encounter took place, and they were killed.&nbsp;Shafique's interrogation revealed that the terrorists spoke Pashto, which means they were either from Afghanistan, or Pakistani area next to the Afghan border."

Hours after a terror attack was foiled in Jammu and Kashmir, CCTV visuals emerged of the incident.&nbsp;Two Jaish-e-Mohammad terrorists were killed in the encounter in Sunjwan on April 22.&nbsp;A CISF officer died, while 9 security personnel were injured in the operation.
A team of India's premier anti-terror probe agency, the National Investigation Agency also visited the spot.&nbsp;Police claimed that the two terrorists had aimed to carry out a suicide attack at a security camp.

When the terrorists were moving towards the Army camp, they were spotted by security personnel.&nbsp;As a knee-jerk reaction, the terrorists threw a grenade and fired at a CISF bus passing through the area, as per officials&nbsp;The terrorists then entered a house, where they were neutralised.
Jammu and Kashmir's police chief called the incident a part of a big conspiracy. Dilbag Singh said, "This was part of a big conspiracy to disturb peace in Jammu. This could be a big conspiracy to sabotage PM Modi's visit. We got timely alert, and a successful operation was done.As per the reports so far, both the terrorists were Pakistani. We will do further verification."

At least six terrorists of Jaish-e-Muhammad were slain in twin gunfights in Jammu and Kashmir since Wednesday evening. The Jammu and Kashmir Police said two encounters raged in Anantnag and Kulgam districts of the valley after the security forces received tip off about the presence of terrorists. The Police said once the security forces reached the suspected spot, hiding militants fired at them leading to an encounters. While two Pakistani and a local terrorist were killed in the brief exchange of firing at Mirhama in Kulgam, three more were killed in Anantnag encounter."6 #terrorists of proscribed #terror outfit JeM killed in two separate #encounters. 4 among the killed terrorists have been identified so far as (2) #Pakistani & (2) local terrorists. Seized ammunition dropped by Pak drone in J&K: police

Jammu and Kashmir Police on Tuesday said that it has seized a cache of arms and ammunition, including two AK assault rifles and a pistol, from a village in&nbsp;Akhnoor&nbsp;on Monday night. The police said that Pakistan had used a drone to air drop the consignment and that they had searched the area based on specific information about the drop. The J&amp;K Police claims it has recovered two AK assault rifles, a pistol, three AK magazines and 90 rounds and added that initial probe suggests involvement of Jaish-e-Mohammed
