Many Indians may cancel international travel plans in the wake of the new variant of coronavirus and possibility of flight bans by nations like Singapore, France and Dubai, a survey by LocalCircles has revealed.
The survey included over 15000 responses from more than 10,000 people spread over 204 districts. Of the 7820 responses received for the first question, 71% said they had no plans to travel internationally&nbsp;in the next 3 months, 2% said they were booked and will travel while 2% said they were booked but may cancel based on the Covid-19 situation.
Another 16% said they had plans but wont travel due to covid while 7% said they may travel based on the Covid situation. Overall, it concluded that two thirds planning international travel in the next 3 months may not do so and 18% wish to undertake domestic travel.

Even light alcohol consumption linked to obesity uptick: study

People who gulp just a glass of wine or a bottle of beer daily could be 25 per cent likely to be obese or suffer from a metabolic syndrome, finds a study involving over 26 million people in South Korea.&nbsp;
Even after adjusting data for factors like age,&nbsp;exercise, smoking, and income, the team's analysis found a close link between alcohol intake and obesity risk.&nbsp;
The highest risk was observed in men who drank more than two drinks or 24g alcohol per day, with 34% higher odds of obesity and 42% greater odds of metabolic syndrome.
The study, presented at the virtual European and International Congress on Obesity, observed similar risks for women except for a slight dip in metabolic syndrome associated with half to one daily drink.&nbsp;

Italy to close all schools, universities over coronavirus: reports

Italy is closing all schools and universities from Thursday until mid-March to help curb the spread of the novel coronavirus, Ansa and other Italian news agencies cited government sources as saying. The measure was one of several being considered by the government at a meeting on Wednesday to combat Covid-19, which has killed 79 people in Italy and infected more than 2,500, the most in Europe.&nbsp;&nbsp;
