Following the brazen murder of a Hindu man allegedly for marrying a Muslim woman, politician Asaduddin Owaisi commented on the incident.
The chief of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen, or AIMIM, condemned the murder, calling it violative of Indian law and Islamic law. Owaisi said, "I'm saying it openly - AIMIM condemns the incident in Saroornagar. We condemn it because in Islam, marriage is between a Muslim man and a Muslim woman. That is when 'nikah' takes place. Under Hindu Marriage Act, you are required to be a Hindu for your marriage to be legal."
The Lok Sabha member added, "In this case, the woman got married as per her choice. She is legal empowered to do so. She has legal permission, she got married. Her brother did not have the right to go and kill her husband. It's a crime as per law. In Islam, the worst crime is murder."
B. Nagaraju was killed in full public view in Hyderabad on May 4, allegedly over his interfaith marriage. One of the accused is the brother of Nagaraju's wife Ashrin Sultana.
The accused - Syed Mobin Ahmed and Mohammed Masood Ahmed - were sent to judicial custody for 14 days on May 5. Meanwhile, Telangana's governor Tamilisai Soundararajan sought a report from the state government on the incident.

The man was accused of kidnapping a woman belonging to the Hindu community.&nbsp;However, the woman reportedly claimed that she went with the man, who is a gym owner, of her own accord.
The woman reportedly left with the man on April 11.&nbsp;She was found two days later.However, the man is yet to be traced.&nbsp;The woman's family had filed a missing person's report.
Subsequently, people affiliated with the&nbsp;Dharam Jagran Samanvay Sangh, a right-wing organisation, allegedly ransacked the man's house and set it on fire, on April 15.
Police claimed that 8 people had been arrested for the attack, with 6 teams deployed to search for more.&nbsp;Some erring police officials were also penalised.
Sudhir Kumar Singh, SSP, said, "Around 4 days ago, a young woman left with a man. They were from different communities. Police were able to locate the woman. Since courts are closed due to holiday, her statement has not been recorded. Meanwhile, some members of the Dharam Jagran Samanvay Sangh set fire to the house of the man who left with the woman. Police is at the spot. Fire has been doused. Peace is prevailing now. FIR is being registered. Soon, arrests will take place. Over lapses, Runakta chowki in-charge has been suspended, and a probe has been ordered against the station house officer. If he is found to have committed lapses, he will face strict action."

Parents of a 28-year-old Hindu woman in Maharashtra's Nashik have reportedly called off her marriage ceremony with a Muslim man after online protesters reacted to the wedding calling it 'love jihad'.
In a letter to the community body, the woman's father, said they decided not to go ahead with the July 18 wedding ceremony due to the 'present situation', referring to the protests on social media after the wedding invitation card went viral.
Social media posts and messages related to the marriage ceremony were widely circulated on WhatsApp groups and the woman's family members reportedly received threat calls.
The father said his daughter and the man had a registered marriage in May. The woman is, however, staying with her parents since the marriage registration.
