Reacting to Amit Sana&rsquo;s claims that there was some &lsquo;political influence&rsquo; behind his 'Indian Idol' win, Abhijeet Sawant said that he finds it unfair to discuss such matters now.

Amit Sana, who was the runner-up of &lsquo;Indian Idol 1&rsquo;, has made a shocking claim against the show 19 years after being part of it. He has accused the channel of allegedly blocking his voting lines two days before the season finale, which aired on March 5, 2005, to make Abhijeet Sawant the winner of the show.
Now, in an exclusive interview with News18 Showsha, Abhijeet Sawant has reacted to Amit Sana&rsquo;s allegations. Calling Sana &lsquo;naive&rsquo;, Sawant asked him to focus on his future rather than making &lsquo;unfair&rsquo; claims.
&lsquo;He is very naive. I have been to many competitions. There are several reasons why you lose a competition. It is not just one thing. He should not forget that he was the runner-up. It wasn&rsquo;t like we both were the only talented boys in the show, there were several other talented people in that competition,&rsquo; Abhijeet Sawant said.
&lsquo;I feel, his people have conveyed such allegations to him and it can be sentimental also. It can be their own opinion also. The entire India was voting for us. How is it possible that one of us was getting votes and the other one wasn&rsquo;t? Indian Idol 1 was also being monitored by the international team. I remember they used to be there on sets all the time,&rsquo; the Indian Idol 1 winner added.
Abhijeet Sawant further said that this is not the first time when somebody has levelled such allegations against his Indian Idol win.
&lsquo;Such things keep happening. I remember there was a magazine which published my photo and wrote, &lsquo;The show is rigged&rsquo;. People are there to talk but as somebody who participated in the show, we should look at what we got from such shows and how we can take it forward rather than regretting about what was wrong,&rsquo; he said.
Sawant also reacted to Sana&rsquo;s claims that there was some &lsquo;political influence&rsquo; behind his win.
&lsquo;I find it unfair to discuss such matters now,&rdquo; he said.

Singers Neha Kakkar and Falguni Pathak have been making headlines over the last one week. It all started after the release of Neha’s track ‘O Sajna’, a remix of Falguni’s 1999 hit song ‘Maine Payal Hai Chhankai’. 
A few days ago, Falguni shared screenshots of fans slamming Neha’s version of the track on Instagram. Neha, too, responded to all the hatred that she received on social media. 
Now, in an unexpected twist, the singers will be seen together on the singing reality show ‘Indian Idol 13’. A promo shared by Sony TV shows Neha welcoming ‘legendary Falguni ma’am’ to the show and dancing along with co-jury panel member Himesh Reshammiya, and host Aditya Narayan. 
However, it is reported that this episode was shot prior to the ongoing war of words. 
According to Hindustan Times, a source close to the show revealed that the episode was shot during the auditions round in August. 
‘The timing is all coincidental. They shot the chunk for Navratri. In fact, at that time, Neha and Falguni were quite cordial. Currently, Neha doesn’t even wish to talk about Falguni and was quite clear that she won’t promote the particular episode or talk about what it was like to have Falguni on the sets,’ the source close was quoted as saying. 
Falguni’s team also told Hindustan Times that the shoot took place on August 20.
Singer Sona Mohapatra took to Twitter on Monday and countered claims of social media users who called ongoing feud of Falguni and Neha a ‘publicity stunt.’ 
‘& why are people so silly that they’re buying into the PR release of a reality show trying to ride the #FalguniPathak news cycle & discredit her reaction as a publicity stunt? Don’t they know that such shows record episodes much in advance & she must not have a clue then?’, Sona tweeted. 
Dhanashree Verma and Priyank Sharma, who feature in the music video of Neha Kakkar’s ‘O Sajna’, have defended the song. 
Talking to Mid-Day, Dhanashree said that she finds Neha's version even better than the original. 
Dhanashree Verma told Mid-day, ‘We all love this song. We have grown up listening to this song. We still listen to this song every year. When we found out it is being recreated we both got very excited because we know the song is loved by everyone and it will be loved even further if you recreate it. The way our composers Tanishk (Bagchi) Neha, and Jaani, all these guys together, they just made it even better. They have amply justified what they had to.’
Priyank Sharma added, ‘The first time I heard this song, it took me exactly 45-50 seconds to say yes. It's an iconic song already and the way they have made it again is commendable. They justified the iconicness of the previous one for real. I was very excited.’

After their online feud, the singers will be seen sharing the stage on the singing reality show ‘Indian Idol’ season 13. The new promo was shared by Sony on Sunday which shows the duo featuring in a Navratri special episode. Falguni is seen singing garba songs, while judges Neha Kakkar, Himesh Reshammiya and host Aditya Narayan play dandiya around her. 
The war of words is now being called a ‘publicity stunt’ by viewers. 
In a recent interview with India Today, veteran singer Anup Jalota talked about how remixes affect the melody of the original song and the original singer.
Defending Falguni, he said, ‘Whenever there is a remix, it should not touch the melody of the original song. Legally you are protected because nobody can file a case. At least, don’t spoil the melody of the song.’
The singer also praised Neha Kakkar and her work and said that she does not need remixes to get shortcut fame. 
‘She has already earned the fame. She might have done it to pursue a wish,’ Anup Jalota told India Today. 
Earlier, Falguni Pathak expressed her disappointment over the remix by reposting fans’ angry reactions on her Instagram handle. In a recent interview, she also mentioned that the original song's innocence has been ruined and she was ‘almost about to puke’ when she first heard the remake.
Meanwhile, Neha Kakkar too addressed the backlash through social media posts and wrote, ‘If talking in such a manner, saying such bad things about me, abusing me.. makes them feel good and if they think it will ruin my day. Then I’m sorry to inform them that I’m too blessed to have bad days. This God’s child is always happy coz God himself is keeping me happy.’
