However, despite the slowdown in annual growth, Chinese tech giant Xiaomi secured the most market share for Q4 2020, and the entire year as well.

An IDC report has declared Xiaomi as the top selling smartphone brand in the Indian market, with 5.5 million shipments in the month of October. The Chinese tech giant reportedly saw a growth of 38.1% year-on-year, and managed to grab 24.8% of the market share ahead of Samsung, that secured 20.6%.

However, while Samsung and Huawei both saw a dip in smartphone sales as compared to Q2 2019, Apple witnessed a steadier period, having shipped 38.3 million phones in Q2 2020, versus 38.5 million units in the same period last year. It's worth noting that Apple's iPhone 11 was the best selling phone in the first half of 2020, shipping 37.7 million units.
