The ICC has reportedly asked the Bangladesh Cricket Board to confirm by January 21 whether it will send the team to India for the 2026 T20 World Cup, with a replacement team under consideration.

The ICC has asked the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) to decide on its participation in the T20 World Cup in India by January 21 or "risk being replaced by another team" in the tournament beginning February 7.
Despite the back and forth between ICC and BCB, no solution has been found to the crisis that was triggered by the removal of Bangladesh pacer Mustafizur Rahman from the 2026 Indian Premier League on BCCI's instructions for unspecified "developments all around."
"The BCB officials have been told to decide on the participation by January 21. If they refuse to travel to India, then they should be ready to be replaced by another team as per rankings," said an ICC source.
Citing security concerns and national pride, the BCB has announced that its national team won't be travelling to India for its group games in Kolkata and Mumbai. However, with the event schedule already finalised, the ICC has shown reluctance to shift Bangladesh's games to co-host Sri Lanka, where the marquee India-Pakistan clash will be held as per the mutually agreed arrangement for ICC events till 2027.
In case Bangladesh continues to be unyielding, the replacement team would most likely be Scotland based on current rankings. Bangladesh are scheduled to play three league games in Kolkata and one in Mumbai.
The BCB has remained adamant on either a change of venue or a change of groups to facilitate its games in Sri Lanka. Bangladesh are currently placed in Group C along with the West Indies, Italy, England and Nepal.
In their last meeting with ICC officials in Dhaka, the BCB proposed that Bangladesh be swapped with Ireland in Group B alongside Sri Lanka, Australia, Oman and Zimbabwe. Such a move would allow the team to be based completely in Sri Lanka for all its league engagements.
"...the possibility of moving Bangladesh to a different group as a means of facilitating the matter with minimum logistical adjustments was discussed," the BCB had stated after the meeting on Saturday.
While the BCB considers it unsafe for its players to travel to India, ICC's risk assessment report does not flag any specific or direct threat to the team if it participates in the tournament.
Bilateral relations between India and Bangladesh have deteriorated with the killings of Hindus in Bangladesh. Former Bangladesh captain Tamim Iqbal and current Test skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto have cautioned against a very hard-line approach on the controversial subject, with the former saying that decisions taken today would have repercussions 10 years down the line.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) on Wednesday said the ICC is "willing to work closely" with it to address "security concerns" around the team's participation in the T20 World Cup in India even though its demand for a change of venue has not yet been accepted.
The T20 World Cup starts on February 7 and Bangladesh are due to play their four games in Kolkata and Mumbai.
"The Bangladesh Cricket Board has received response from the ICC regarding the Board's expressed concerns over the safety and security of the Bangladesh National Cricket Team in India for the ICC T20 World Cup, including the request for relocation of the team's matches," the BCB said in a statement.
"In its communication, the ICC has reiterated its commitment to ensuring the full and uninterrupted participation of the Bangladesh team in the tournament.
"The ICC has conveyed its willingness to work closely with the BCB to address the concerns raised and has assured that the Board's inputs will be welcomed and duly considered as part of the detailed security planning for the event," it added.
Hostilities shot up between India and Bangladesh following Bangladeshi pacer Mustafizur Rahman's ouster from the IPL on BCCI's instructions. The Indian Board did not give a clear reason for the decision but it was largely attributed to the deepening diplomatic tensions between the two neighbours in the wake of attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh.
The BCCI's action prompted a livid BCB to demand that its four World Cup matches in India be shifted to co-host Sri Lanka in a written submission to the ICC. The ICC has not yet issued a public response to the BCB on this subject and a planned meeting between the two bodies on Tuesday also could not take place.
The BCB said it will continue the "constructive engagement" with the ICC and relevant event authorities in a "cooperative and professional manner". The Board also stated that it was confident of "an affable and practical solution" for the "smooth and successful" participation of the team in the T20 World Cup.
Drawn in Group C, the team is scheduled to face the West Indies in their opening match at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata and subsequently compete against defending champions England, Italy and Nepal.
 "No Ultimatum from ICC"
The BCB also rejected reports that it had been told to either participate as per the decided schedule or forfeit its games by the ICC.
"The BCB has also taken note of certain reports published in a section of the media suggesting that the Board has been issued an ultimatum in this regard.
"The BCB categorically states that such claims are completely false, unfounded and do not reflect the nature or content of the communication received from the ICC," it asserted.
Rahman was bought for Rs 9.2 crore by Kolkata Knight Riders at last year's players' auction in Abu Dhabi. After his ouster from the IPL, he was on Tuesday roped in by the Pakistan Super League even though the players' draft of that event has not yet taken place.

The report said a virtual meeting took place on Tuesday between officials of the ICC and the BCB, during which the ICC informed the Bangladesh board that its request to relocate the matches outside India on security grounds had not been accepted. The ICC reportedly conveyed that Bangladesh&rsquo;s senior men&rsquo;s national team would be required to travel to India for its scheduled fixtures or risk forfeiting points in the tournament.
However, neither the ICC nor the BCB has issued an official statement confirming the outcome of the meeting. The virtual call was arranged after the BCB wrote to the ICC on Sunday, seeking reconsideration of Bangladesh&rsquo;s match venues for the T20 World Cup 2026, citing safety concerns, ESPNcricinfo reported.
Bangladesh are scheduled to begin their T20 World Cup campaign on February 7 against two-time champions West Indies at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. &ldquo;The Board reviewed the situation in detail, taking into account developments over the last 24 hours, and expressed deep concern over the overall circumstances surrounding the participation of the Bangladesh National Team in matches scheduled to be played in India,&rdquo; it added.
&ldquo;Following a thorough assessment of the prevailing situation and the growing concerns regarding the safety and security of the Bangladesh contingent in India and considering the advice from the Bangladesh Government, the Board of Directors resolved that the Bangladesh National Team will not travel to India for the tournament under the current conditions,&rdquo; the release said.
The developments come in the backdrop of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) announcing that they had removed Bangladeshi pacer Mustafizur Rahman from their IPL 2026 squad following a directive from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
KKR&rsquo;s decision followed comments by BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia, who said the board had instructed the franchise to release the Bangladesh player &ldquo;due to the recent developments.&rdquo;
&ldquo;Due to the recent developments which are going on all across, BCCI has instructed the franchise KKR to release one of their players, Mustafizur Rahman of Bangladesh, from their squad, and BCCI has also said that if they ask for any replacement, BCCI is going to allow that replacement,&rdquo; Saikia told ANI.
The inclusion of the Bangladeshi pacer had earlier triggered political reactions in India amid reports of attacks on Hindu minorities in Bangladesh. Mustafizur Rahman was picked by the three-time IPL champions during the IPL 2026 auction in December for ₹9.20 crore.

According to Bangladesh Cricket Board sources, their president Aminul Islam Bulbul wants a written reply to an e-mail BCB has sent to ICC on their security apprehensions after BCCI decided to oust Mustafizur by instructing KKR to cancel its Rs 9.2 crore deal with the pacer.&nbsp;
BCB, in a retaliatory move, then wrote to ICC requesting for shifting of its league games in India to Sri Lanka. Bangladesh are supposed to play three games in Kolkata, including against West Indies and England, while the game against Nepal is scheduled in Mumbai.&nbsp;
The ICC's core team is working on multiple options including shifting the games to Sri Lanka but it involves a lot of logistical rejigging with just a month left for the event to start. It involves change of dates, and ticketing and broadcasting issues among others.&nbsp;
It remains to be seen whether ICC accedes to BCB's demands. Another option is to ask the BCB recce team to send its representatives to India to assess the security situation.&nbsp;
The third and last option is to remove Bangladesh from the tournament if they don't agree to play at the existing venues.&nbsp;

In the reply sent to the BCCI and other ACC member nations, Naqvi has insisted that he is willing to organise a ceremony on November 10 in Dubai, where a representative of the BCCI and any available Indian team player can take the trophy from him.
"The ACC trophy rightly belongs to the Indian cricket team and is being held in trust till such time that a BCCI office holder along with any available participating player can collect the same from the ACC President," Naqvi wrote in his reply.
"Such collection would of course be accompanied with much fanfare and coverage as there should be no deviation from established practices and no precedent should be set which undermines the spirit of the game we all love."
The ICC is headed by former BCCI secretary Jay Shah.
Naqvi's reply came after the BCCI's fresh missive to the ACC on the Asia Cup trophy fiasco, which was backed by boards of Afghanistan and Sri Lanka.
The response clearly indicates the level of mistrust and tensions between the BCCI and PCB.
"...as regards the remainder of your letter, slanderous as it may be and digressing as it does from the same values you highlighted, the office of the ACC President will not indulge in petty politics that is aimed to pacify select extremist groups," the reply further reads.
"The true state of affairs is that there was never any official communication shared with ACC office or the Tournament Director highlighting any position or concern of the BCCI with respect to prize distribution ceremony.
"It was only when the Ceremony was about to take place and distinguished guests had taken their place on the stage that the BCCI's representative conveyed that the Indian Cricket Team would not be receiving the Asla Cup Trophy and awards. Efforts were made to find a solution to the impasse which resulted in an inordinate delay."
"The ACC president waited along with the distinguished guests for approximately 40 minutes to ensure that the integrity of the presentation ceremony was preserved and was not adversely affected by politics, but in vain," the reply added.
A reliable source in the PCB said that the legal department of the board had already been instructed to prepare a dossier in case the BCCI officials move to have Naqvi censured at the ICC board meeting, an indication of which has already been given by the BCCI if the trophy fiasco is not resolved at the earliest.

The ICC on Tuesday rejected Pakistan's demand to remove match referee Andy Pycroft from the panel of officials for the ongoing Asia Cup despite the PCB's reported threat of a pullout after blaming the Zimbabwean for the "no handshake" furore that followed the game against India.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had filed a complaint with the ICC alleging that Pycroft asked its captain Salman Ali Agha not to shake hands with his Indian counterpart Suryakumar Yadav at the time of toss in their Asia Cup match on Sunday.
"Late last night, ICC had sent a reply to PCB stating that Pycroft won't be removed and their plea has been rejected," an ICC source told PTI.
The 69-year-old Zimbabwean is due to officiate Pakistan's final group stage game against the UAE on Wednesday.
Pakistan team manager Naved Cheema had also filed a complaint with the Asian Cricket Council alleging that it was on Pycroft's insistence that team sheets weren't exchanged between the two skippers on Sunday as is the norm.
After the match that India won by seven wickets, Suryakumar and his men did not exchange handshakes with their cross-border rivals as a mark of respect for the Pahalgam terror attack victims and their families.
Pycroft is one of the senior-most match referees in ICC Elite Panel with 695 international games to his credit (men and women across three formats).
It is reliably learnt that the situation arose due to PCB's Director of Cricket Operations Usman Walha, who didn't apprise his own skipper about the rules and regulations that are to be followed during the tournament.
It is learnt that an irate PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi, who is also the current chairman of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC), ordered the sacking of Walha on Monday for the embarrassment caused to the national cricket team and its captain.
According to well-placed sources, it was Walha's duty to inform Salman about the "No Handshake" policy but he didn't do so and the Pakistan skipper was apparently caught unawares by the turn of events.
"Walha should have released a statement at the toss itself when the two captains didn't shake hands. Naqvi apparently was furious as he handled it poorly," a PCB source said.
The PCB had wanted Pycroft to be removed from the entire tournament but now it would be interesting to see if they continue playing after the ICC, headed by India's Jay Shah, summarily rejected their demand.
It is understood that PCB is trying to work out a respectable solution by which Pycroft doesn't officiate in their matches.
One proposal given by the PCB is to have Richie Richardson stand in its match against the UAE on Wednesday but whether that would happen or not is the big question.

The much-debated idea of a two-tier Test system, expansion of the T20 World Cup and ratification of new members are some of the topics that will be discussed in depth during the four-day AGM of the International Cricket Council (ICC), beginning here from Thursday.
With the new World Test Championship (WTC) cycle (2025-27) in progress, the discussion on the two-tier Test format is set to revolve around fund allocation and clauses surrounding promotion and relegation.
However, it has been generally accepted that the current WTC cycle will not be altered, and a possible implementation of the new system will be done after 2027.
But the upcoming AGM, which will be headed by ICC chairman Jay Shah and newly-appointed CEO Sanjog Gupta, will take a serious note of this method since Cricket Australia and the England and Wales Cricket Board are major advocates of it.
While there is no intention to add more teams to the 50-over World Cup, the ICC may mull adding more teams to the T20 version, potentially swelling it to 24 participants. However, any concrete decision is not expected before next year.
At present, 20 teams are competing in the showpiece after the addition of four more sides since the last year's World Cup and the model will be retained until at least the 2026 edition.
But cricket's return to the Olympics through the 2028 Los Angeles Games, and Italy's qualification for next year's T20 World Cup, to be jointly hosted by India and Sri Lanka, have given an impetus to the expansion thoughts.
"Italy's qualification for the World Cup is being viewed as a sign of cricket gaining some traction with new nations, and the governing body is keen to connect with a wider audience," a source privy to the development informed PTI.
Since his elevation to the ICC top position in December 2024, Shah has been holding a series of high-profile engagements such as the one with FIFA president Gianni Infantino during the 144th IOC Session at Costa Navarino in Greece in March and with former IOC head Thomas Bach in January.
Meanwhile, the ICC is likely to get a final update on the inquiry into the conduct of last year's T20 World Cup. There were charges of a cost blow-out during the tournament.
While it was not officially announced, it is believed that the mis-handling of funds during the marquee event held in the USA and the West Indies had a role in the resignation of former CEO Geoff Allardice in late January.
Meanwhile, Zambia is set to return to the ICC fold as an Associate member after its suspension in 2019 and East Timor is also likely to become a first-time member.
Zambia was suspended due to "continued non-compliance" to amend multiple breaches of the ICC's Membership Criteria, relating to general competence and an acceptable detailed governance system.

The new rules have been implemented from the 2025-2027 World Test Championship which got underway with the first of the two Tests between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh in Galle.
According to the ICC Test Match Playing Conditions on the governing body&rsquo;s website, the use of the stop clock &mdash; like in limited-overs cricket &mdash; has been implemented to eradicate the issue of slow over-rate.
&ldquo;The fielding side shall be ready to start each over within 60 seconds of the previous over being completed. An electronic clock will be displayed at the ground that counts up seconds from zero to 60,&rdquo; the ICC said.
The fielding side will thus be given two warnings and in case of a third infraction, the batting side will be awarded with five penalty runs.
These warnings will be reset to zero after the completion of 80 overs, the ICC said.
Meanwhile, ESPNcricinfo reported that the ICC no longer mandates the umpires to change the ball once they discover saliva on it as the ban on the use of saliva remains in force.
The website said fielding teams may deliberately apply saliva on the ball to force a ball-change but the current document available on playing conditions for men&rsquo;s Test cricket does not mention any such change.
The ICC also said in case there are instances of referrals being made by both player and the on-field umpire, the process will be carried out in a chronological order, effectively as per the order of their occurrence.

The 27-year-old was found to have breached Level 1 of the ICC Code of Conduct.
"Pant was found to have breached Article 2.8 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates to showing dissent at an Umpire's decision during an International Match," the ICC said in a statement.
In addition to this, one demerit point has been added to Pant's disciplinary record, for whom it was the first offence in 24 months.
The incident happened in the 61st over of England's innings, when Harry Brook and Ben Stokes were batting. Pant was seen having a discussion with the umpires regarding the condition of the ball.
When the umpires refused to change the ball after checking it with the ball gauge, the wicket-keeper showed his dissent by throwing the ball on the ground in front of the umpires.
There was no disciplinary hearing as Pant admitted to the offence and accepted the sanction proposed by ICC match referee Richie Richardson.
The charges were brought in by the on-field umpires, Chris Gaffaney and Paul Reiffel, along with the third umpire Sharfuddoula Ibne Shahid and the fourth umpire, Mike Burns.
Level 1 breaches carry a minimum penalty of an official reprimand, a maximum penalty of 50 per cent of a player's match fee, and one or two demerit points.

India vice-captain Smriti Mandhana on Tuesday moved up to the top spot in ICC ODI batting rankings for the first time since 2019 after South Africa skipper Laura Wolvaardt lost 19 rating points in the latest update.
Mandhana has a total of 727 rating points followed by England captain Natalie Sciver-Brunt at 719. Wolvaardt is now third with 719 points.
The next two Indian batters in the list after Mandhana are Jemimah Rodrigues and skipper Harmanpreet Kaur, who are placed 14th and 15th respectively.
India and England are set to face off in five T20Is and three ODIs later this month.
While Mandhana has sat inside the top 10 on the list for ODI batters in recent times, the left-hander hasn't held the premier position since the start of 2019 as a drought of more than six years comes to an end.
The India opener has been in excellent touch of late and scored a superb century during the final of India's recent tri-series against Sri Lanka and South Africa in Colombo.
Mandhana is also ranked fourth in the list of batters in T20Is.
It was Mandhana's 11th ODI century of her career and contributed to the left-hander improving her rating past Wolvaardt, who managed scores of 27 and 28 in South Africa's recent ODI contests against the West Indies.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) is ready to sanction four-day Tests for smaller nations in the 2027-29 World Test Championship cycle but India, Australia and England can still play the traditional five-day matches, according a report here.
The move to reduce matches by one day would be a significant change and can help smaller nations to play more Tests and longer series.
"During discussions last week at the WTC final at Lord&rsquo;s, the ICC chair, Jay Shah, is understood to have expressed his support for four-day Tests, with a view to sanctioning them in time for the 2027-29 WTC cycle," a report in "The Guardian' newspaper said.
"England, Australia and India would still be permitted to schedule five-Test series of five-day matches for the Ashes, the Border-Gavaskar Trophy and the newly named Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy, the first iteration of which begins with the first Test between England and India at Headingley on Friday." The ICC first sanctioned four-day Tests for bilateral contests in 2017. England played Zimbabwe over four days at Trent Bridge last month after four-day Tests against Ireland in 2019 and 2023.
According to the report, "many smaller nations are reluctant to host Tests due to the time they take out of the schedule and the cost, but a move to four-day cricket would enable an entire three-Test series to be played in less than three weeks." "In four-day Tests the playing hours are extended to mandate a minimum of 98 overs per day rather than 90 overs to mitigate the time lost," it said.
"South Africa&rsquo;s threadbare itinerary despite being crowned world champions in the thrilling final against Australia at Lord&rsquo;s last week has further highlighted the issue, and focused minds on the need for change," it added.
The 2025-27 World Test Championship will, however, will continue under the existing format of five-day matches.
It begins with Sri Lanka hosting Bangladesh in a two-Test series on Tuesday.
Of the 27 Test series to be played among nine countries contesting in the 2025-27 cycle, 17 will feature just two-match affairs whereas there will be six series of three matches.
England, Australia and India will all play a five-Test series each against the other.

Dhoni, who led India to the T20 World Cup win in 2007, the ODI World Cup victory in 2011 and the Champions Trophy in 2013, said in a statement shared by the governing body that, "It is an honour to be named in the ICC Hall of Fame, which recognises the contributions of cricketers across generations and from all over the world." "To have your name remembered alongside such all-time greats is a wonderful feeling. It is something that I will cherish forever.&rdquo; Dhoni played 90 Tests, 350 ODIs and 98 T20Is for India and remains one of the greatest captains to have led the country. In 60 Tests that Dhoni captained the side, India won 27 games, lost 15 and drew 18.
In 200 ODIs, a record for most number of matches as India captain, Dhoni led the country to 110 wins while losing 74 games. Five matches ended in a tie and 11 were washed out.
"Dhoni's ODI legacy is studded with records, including the most stumpings in the format (123), the highest individual score by a wicketkeeper (183*), and the most matches as captain for India (200), to name a few. But the crowning moment of his career came in 2011, when he led India to World Cup glory after a 28-year wait,&rdquo; the ICC said.
Dhoni also holds the record for leading India in most T20Is &mdash; 72 &mdash; in which the two-time World Cup winners won 41 games, lost 28 while two ended in no result and one was tied.
A legendary finisher in ODIs, Dhoni scored 10,773 runs in 350 matches at 50.57 with 10 centuries and 73 fifties.
He scored 4,876 runs in 90 Tests at a little over 38 with six tons and 33 fifties, while Dhoni scored 1,617 runs in 98 T20Is at 37.60 with two fifties.
"His glove work defied convention. Dhoni&rsquo;s technique behind the stumps was unorthodox, yet extraordinarily effective. He turned wicketkeeping into an art form of its own, effecting run-outs off deflections, completing stumpings in the blink of an eye, and pulling off catches with a style all his own,&rdquo; the ICC said.
&ldquo;With the bat, he brought brute force and power-hitting to the wicketkeeper-batter&rsquo;s role that was traditionally reserved for steady, lower-order contributors. At a time when Indian wicketkeepers were expected to play it safe, Dhoni came out swinging, both literally and metaphorically.&rdquo; Recalling India&rsquo;s title win in the inaugural edition of the T20 World Cup in 2007 in South Africa, ICC said it made Dhoni &ldquo;one of the most influential captains the game has ever seen&rdquo;.

Meanwhile New Zealand's opening pair of Tim Seifert and Finn Allen, and new-ball bowler Jacob Duffy have made huge gains in the player rankings after helping their team to a 2-0 lead against Pakistan in the five-match T20I series.
Seifert and Allen got fine opening stands in both matches, the highlight being a 66-run blitz in the second match in Dunedin, in which seven of the first eight scoring shots of the innings were sixers as New Zealand chased a target of 136 with 11 balls to spare and five wickets in hand.
Sifert, who smashed 44 off 29 in the first match in Christchurch and 45 off 22 in the second, has progressed 20 slots to 13th position while Allen has moved up eight spots to 18th position with contributions of 29 not out off 17 and 38 off 16.
Duffy, who has picked six wickets in the two matches including a career-best haul of four for 14 in the first match that New Zealand won by nine wickets with almost 10 overs to spare, has advanced 23 slots to a career-best 12th position.
Other players to gain in the latest weekly rankings were New Zealand bowlers Ish Sodhi (up two places to 36th), Ben Sears (up 22 places to 67th) and Zakary Foulkes (up 41 places to 90th), and Pakistan's Haris Rauf (up four places to 26th).

A source in the PCB said on Monday that chairman Mohsin Naqvi was not satisfied with the explanation given by the ICC for not having Ahmed on stage at the presentation ceremony on Sunday.
"The ICC, apparently, has said it had prepared for Mohsin Naqvi to be on stage so when he didn't show up for the final, they changed their plan," the source said.
"The ICC only invites the head of the host board such as the president, vice president, chairman, or CEO - to participate in the awards ceremony.
Other board officials, even if present at the venue, are not part of the stage proceedings," the ICC spokesperson added.
India beat New Zealand by four wickets in the title clash.
The PCB has rejected this explanation and noted that the ICC had made a number of errors during the tournament regarding Pakistan's status as host nation.
This included changing the CT 2025 logo in the live broadcasts feed of the India versus Bangladesh game and then playing the Indian national anthem in the Australia versus England match in Lahore.
The ICC claimed due to a mix up with the playlist the Indian national anthem was played for a few seconds before the error was corrected.
BCCI president Roger Binny presented the white jackets to India players and the medals to match officials, while ICC chairman Jay Shah handed the trophy to skipper Rohit Sharma and gave the medals to the winners.
BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia and New Zealand Cricket's CEO Roger Twose were also present on stage.
Meanwhile, the PCB chairman has extended his gratitude to his team, law enforcement agencies, provincial governments, ICC officials and the visiting teams for the success of the tournament.
"Your commitment and collective efforts ensured the seamless execution of the prestigious tournament," he said on his social media handle.
"Pakistan takes immense pride in hosting the Champions trophy and making it a spectacle for cricket fans worldwide."

Trump signed an executive order saying the court in The Hague had "abused its power" by issuing an arrest warrant for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who held talks with the US president on Tuesday.
He ordered asset freezes and travel bans against ICC officials, employees and their family members, along with anyone deemed to have helped the court's investigations.
The names of the individuals were not immediately released, but previous US sanctions under Trump had targeted the court's prosecutor.
Trump's order said the tribunal had engaged in "llegitimate and baseless actions targeting America and our close ally Israel," referring to ICC probes into alleged war crimes by US service members in Afghanistan and Israeli troops in Gaza.
Neither the United States nor Israel are members of the court.
There was no immediate reaction from the ICC.
But the Netherlands, the court's host country, said it "regrets" Trump's sanctions order.
"The court's work is essential in the fight against impunity," Dutch Foreign Minister Caspar Veldkamp said on X.
The sanctions are a show of support after Netanyahu's visit to the White House, during which Trump unveiled a plan for the United States to "take over" Gaza and move Palestinians to other Middle Eastern countries.
The UN and legal experts have said Trump's plan would be illegal under international law. Forcible displacement is also a crime under the ICC's governing Rome Statute.

Following a request by ICC prosecutor Karim Khan, judges issued arrest warrants on November 21 for Netanyahu, his former defense minister Yoav Gallant, and Hamas' military chief Mohammed Deif -- whom Israel says is dead.
The court said it had found "reasonable grounds" to believe Netanyahu and Gallant bore "criminal responsibility" for the war crime of starvation as a method of warfare during the Gaza war, as well as the crimes against humanity of murder, persecution, and other inhumane acts.
Netanyahu has acused the court of anti-Semitism.
During his first term, Trump imposed financial sanctions and a visa ban on the ICC's then-prosecutor, Fatou Bensouda, and other senior officials and staff in 2020.
Describing it as a "kangaroo court," his then-administration made the move after Gambian-born Bensouda launched an investigation into allegations of war crimes against US soldiers in Afghanistan.
While his order at the time did not name Israel, Trump administration officials said they were also angered by Bensouda's opening of a probe into the situation in the Palestinian territories in 2019.
President Joe Biden lifted the sanctions soon after taking office in 2021.
Prosecutor Khan later effectively dropped the United States from the Afghan investigation and focused on the Taliban instead.
Biden strongly condemned the "outrageous" warrant against Netanyahu in November.
The US House passed a bill last month to sanction the ICC, but Senate Democrats blocked it last week, saying the bill could backfire on US allies and firms.
But Democrats have also expressed anger at the sanctions on Netanyahu.

Jadeja had a superb all-round year in 2024. He was a key figure in India&rsquo;s series wins against England and Bangladesh, contributing with both bat and ball.
He took 48 wickets at an average of 24.29 and scored 527 runs, including a century and three half-centuries, helping India dominate in multiple series.
<h3>Pat Cummins (Australia, captain)</h3>
Pat Cummins led Australia to victory in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, leading them to a 3-1 win against India.
As captain, he also contributed significantly with both bat and ball, taking 37 wickets at an average of 24.02 and scoring 306 runs.
His leadership helped Australia reclaim the prestigious Border-Gavaskar Trophy after a decade.
<h3>Matt Henry (New Zealand)</h3>
Henry was a standout performer for New Zealand in 2024. His most notable performances came against Australia, where he claimed 17 wickets in the home series, including a memorable eight-wicket haul.
Henry finished the year with 48 wickets at an exceptional average of 18.58, the fourth-highest wicket-taker of the year.
Jasprit Bumrah (India)
Bumrah was the best bowler in Test cricket in 2024, finishing as the highest wicket-taker of the year. He took 71 wickets at an astonishing average of 14.92, including five five-wicket hauls.
His performances against Australia were particularly memorable, where he led India to crucial victories, including a mesmerizing 5/30 in the first Test at Perth and a nine-wicket haul in Melbourne.

Smriti Mandhana and Deepti Sharma have been named to the ICC Women's ODI Team of the Year for 2024. While no Indian male cricketers made it to the ICC Men's ODI Team, Sri Lanka's dominance in the category led the way.

Star batter Smriti Mandhana and all-rounder Deepti Sharma were on Friday named in the ICC women's ODI Team of the Year 2024 but none of their male counterparts found a place in the men's side that was dominated by Sri Lanka, Pakistan and Afghanistan.
The women's all-star team has three players from England, two Australians, two South Africans and one each from Sri Lanka and West Indies, besides the two Indians.
South African batter Laura Wolvaardt, who scored 697 runs in 12 matches in 2024, was named captain of the ICC team.
The men were, however, absent from the ICC XI and that can be attributed to lack of ODI engagements for the country last year. India played only three ODIs -- an away series against Sri Lanka --, losing two of them while the third one ended in a tie.
The 28-year-old Mandhana accumulated 747 runs in 13 matches to be the highest run-scorer in women's ODIs in 2024. She is also in the running for the ICC Women's ODI Cricketer of the Year 2024 award.

She began her year with a run-a-ball 29 against Australia in January, but had to wait six months for her next ODIs, a home series against South Africa.
When she returned, Mandhana was in sublime form, beginning with back-to-back centuries in the first two ODIs against the Proteas. She narrowly missed a third consecutive ton, falling for 90, though her remarkable tally of 343 runs in the series earned her the Player-of-the-Series award.
Mandhana had a shaky start in the first two ODIs against New Zealand in October, but ended the series on a high note with a brilliant century in the final match. With this hundred, Mandhana became the most prolific century-maker for India in the Women's 50-over format.
A similar story unfolded during the away series against Australia, where she capped off in style with a century at the WACA. She came close to back-to-back centuries in the opening ODI against West Indies but fell agonisingly short in the nervous nineties once again. Mandhana wrapped up the series with two half-centuries.
Deepti scored 186 runs and took 24 wickets in 13 matches in an all-round show in 2024.
She began the year with a gritty all-round performance in the lone ODI against Australia at Wankhede in January, scoring an unbeaten 25 runs and taking a wicket.
In the three-match series against South Africa in Bengaluru in June, Deepti showcased her bowling brilliance, picking up two wickets in each of the three matches. In her only opportunity to bat, she scored a crucial 37 in the opening game.
Deepti starred in the ODI series against New Zealand in October, earning Player-of-the-Match honours for her 41 runs and figures of 1/41 in the opening game. She followed up with a strong showing in the second match, taking 2/30 in a losing cause, and was the standout bowler in the final ODI, spinning India to victory with figures of 3/39.
Meanwhile, the absence of any Indian in the men's all-star team could be attributed to very less number of matches the country played last year. India played only three ODIs -- an away series against Sri Lanka --, losing two of them while the third one ended in a tie.

The all-star ODI team announced by the ICC features four players from Sri Lanka, three each from Pakistan and Afghanistan and one from the West Indies.
Sri Lanka captain Charith Asalanka was named skipper of the ICC team as well for his stupendous batting through the year.
In his 16 ODI appearances in 2024, Asalanka scored 605 runs at an average of 50.2 including a century and four fifties.
Sri Lanka played 18 ODIs in the year gone by, the highest among all teams, and won 12 of them.
Pakistan picked up seven victories from its nine ODI engagements, while Afghanistan won eight of their 14 one-dayers.
Big-hitting West Indian Sherfane Rutherford, who made his international debut in 2023, was the lone non-Asian in the all star XI for his 425 runs from nine games at an astonishing average of 106.2.

Over the three matches in December, Bumrah claimed an impressive 22 wickets at an exceptional average of 14.22, leading India&rsquo;s bowling attack. His standout performance came in Adelaide, where he took four crucial wickets, keeping India within reach of Australia&rsquo;s first-innings lead.
Bumrah then shone even brighter in Brisbane, taking six wickets in the first innings to rattle Australia&rsquo;s batting order. He followed up with three more wickets in the second innings, completing a nine-wicket match haul. His efforts were integral in securing a draw despite adverse weather conditions, helping India maintain their chances in the series.
The Boxing Day Test in Melbourne saw Bumrah continue to impress, claiming four wickets in the first innings, followed by a five-wicket haul in the second innings to dismiss Australia for 234.
