<p>Actor Huma Qureshi has joined the cast of Subhash Kapoor's courtroom dramedy &lsquo;Jolly LLB 3&rsquo;. She will reprise her role of Pushpa Pandey from the second installment. &nbsp;In the franchise, Huma plays Akshay&rsquo;s wife.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Taking to Instagram, Huma shared three pictures of her, posing with her eyes closed for the camera.&nbsp;</p>
<p>She looked beautiful in a white kurti with floral motifs, paired with a pink dupatta and earrings.&nbsp;</p>

<p>&lsquo;Jolly LLB 3&rsquo; will reunite Huma with Akshay after &lsquo;Bell Bottom&rsquo; (2021) and with Arshad Warsi after &lsquo;Dedh Ishqiya&rsquo; (2014).</p>

<p>Actor Huma Qureshi has turned author with her debut novel titled &lsquo;<em>Zeba: An Accidental Superhero&rsquo;</em>. She launched her book at the 12th edition of the Bangalore Literature Festival (BLF) on December 2.</p>
<p>Talking about the book, Huma said that the book is a fantasy fiction novel set very specifically between 1992 and 2019. It talks about a make-believe kingdom and an evil king and how a girl named Zeba defeats him with her superpowers.</p>
<p>The actor also shared glimpses of the event on her social media.</p>
<p>According to PTI, Huma said that she started writing &lsquo;Zeba: An Accidental Superhero&rsquo; during Covid-imposed break. &ldquo;I started this book during Covid. I used to wake up every morning, take a shower, work out and then sit down to write. And I call this stream of consciousness writing &ndash; just sit down with a laptop and keep writing,&rdquo; the actor said.</p>

<p>Huma said, &lsquo;Aaj kal jab main yeh baatein sunti hoon toh lagta hain ki ye baatein ho kyun rahi hai? (I don&rsquo;t understand where these things are coming from).&rsquo;</p>

<p>In a recent roundtable, Bhumi Pednekar, Huma Qureshi, Tamannah Bhatia, Rakul Preet Singh and Alaya F addressed the existing pay disparity issue in Bollywood.</p>

<p>Global star Priyanka Chopra recently opened up about the pay disparity issue in Bollywood and mentioned how it took her 22 years to get paid as much as her male co-stars. Now, in a recent roundtable interview, Indian cinema&rsquo;s leading ladies Bhumi Pednekar, Huma Qureshi, Tamannah Bhatia, Rakul Preet Singh and Alaya F addressed how pay disparity issue affects the careers of heroines.</p>
<p>Bhumi Pednekar said, 'I could have as many Rs 100 or 200 crore films as my male-costar. I may be appreciated for my work but it&rsquo;s a norm that I will not be paid as close to what he is being paid. And it won&rsquo;t change with us fighting. It has to happen from every aspect. The disparity was also in the west but the men there stood up for women. They said either they will take a pay cut or get them the same remuneration. And while I don&rsquo;t want anyone to stand up for me, there has to be empathy. One needs to acknowledge the issue.'</p>
<p>Tamannah Bhatia also talked about the issue and said that Alia Bhatt's performance proved that female actors can also get numbers and the disparity is open and out in the film industry.</p>
<p>Rakul Preet mentioned that it's going to be a long route to get equal remuneration even when a female actor has equal input in the film.</p>
<p>Extending the point, Huma Qureshi said, 'But we should also understand that the males have created a market over years. We cannot pitch 10 female films with the 100s they have.'</p>

<p>'We never had those role models, so it was important for us to become those people for the audience who is watching this movie. Everybody needs that reassurance growing up. It&rsquo;s important to make people believe that it&rsquo;s not always about how you look. It&rsquo;s a very personal film for both of us.' the actor added.</p>
<p>Huma Qureshi also talked about her experience and the judgments she faced due to her weight. She said, 'Both Sonakshi and I have had very different journeys in films. But both of us have been told numerous times that we don&rsquo;t fit into the mould of a conventional Hindi film heroine. We want to know what that mould is. Because that couldn&rsquo;t stop us from achieving our dreams. As public figures, we face so much for being the way we are. I can&rsquo;t even imagine what other girls and boys go through every day.'</p>
<p>'If there is a plus size character in the film, they are at the centre of the joke. In this film, we don&rsquo;t want people to laugh at them but with them. After being called a big girl my whole life, I was doing this film&hellip; I always believed I&rsquo;m not a big girl, I&rsquo;m a beautiful girl. This is for all those who have been told they are misfits.' she added.</p>
<p>The actors also spoke with Bollywood Hungama about the movie, and their journeys in the industry, and the things they have gone through because of their weight. Talking about it, Sonakshi said, 'In the first three-four years of my career, they only spoke about my appearance. It reached a point when I said don&rsquo;t talk to me if this is all you&rsquo;re going to talk about. I am doing a lot of work. I work like a dog and I am trying to make a life for myself, and all you want to know is about my weight.'</p>
<p>Adding to this, Huma said that people have questioned them why they didn&rsquo;t wear bikinis.</p>
