The Hollywood Critics Association took to Twitter to clarify that Jr NTR was invited to receive the award for SS Rajamouli&rsquo;s &lsquo;RRR&rsquo;, but he couldn&rsquo;t make it for the event as he had prior shooting commitments.

Ram Charan had accompanied director Rajamouli, when he went up to the stage to receive the award, but Jr NTR was missing. Musician MM Keeravani also received the award for the best song.

Responding to the tweet, a few of the actor's fans mentioned that Jr NTR lost a cousin recently. The official handle replied, saying, &lsquo;He was originally shooting a movie, which is why he couldn&rsquo;t attend. His brother passing happened afterwards and is why he stepped away from the movie. This is what his publicist told us.&rsquo;
Jr NTR's cousin Nandamuri Taraka Ratna died in a Bengaluru hospital last week. He was hospitalised after he collapsed during a rally in last month.&nbsp;
