Demand for hotels is up by 17 per cent and now at par with the pre-COVID level

As the year-end festivities and Christmas Holidays are around the corner, demand for homestays and 3-star hotels have surged and contributed to almost 60% of the searches for hotels for the upcoming holiday season.&nbsp;
According to the latest Justdial Consumer Insights report, Demand for Home Stays saw a meteoric 135 per cent jump, and that for 3-star hotels rose by 18 per cent, while that for others remained stable.&nbsp;&nbsp;
Among Tier-I cities, demand for homestays remained the highest in Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Delhi.
While searches for Hotels soared, searches for Bars, Fast Food, Food Delivery, and Dhabas made up for the top-5 most searched services during this holiday and party season. Hotels dominated with 27 per cent of the overall searches followed by Bars (23 per cent), Fast Food (18 per cent), Food Delivery (17 per cent), and Dhabas (14 per cent).

Bank Holidays in April 2022: Hyderabad will see the most number of bank holidays (nine), while Shimla will witness the least (five), based on the region-specific festivals

Bank Holidays :&nbsp;As the month of April has several festivals lined up, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has given the dates on which banks will be shut in April 2022.&nbsp; Though there are no national holidays in April, but there will be several festivals and long weekends. From 1-3, April banks will remain shut in several parts of India. The banks will be closed on April 1 due to the yearly closing of bank accounts. Meanwhile, banks will be closed on April 2 for Gudi Padwa/Ugadi Festival/1st Navratra/Telugu New Year's Day/Sajibu Nongmapanba (Cheiraoba).&nbsp;
April 3, there is Sunday, therefore the banks will remain shut from Friday to Sunday.

As the winters holidays are around the corner, foreign travel following the surge in quires by Indians has gone up but high airprice is still stopping to pack their bags.

Travel to short-haul destination like Dubai, Maldives, Sri Lanka have grown. Many chose to flock to Dubai, which continues to be top destination despite a hike in airfares of over 120% compared to 2019. 
As demand for Eypt and Sri Lanka is also rising among holiday seekers, Maldives continues to witness strong demand from India, which is 75% higher compared to pre-pandemic levels. 
Expensive Escape?
Foreign flights are still few and far between, dependent on bilateral bubble arrangements between governments, which has led to the hike in airfares.
Travel from India to the US, the two-way fare is Rs 1 lakh- 1.5 lakh. Earlier the return cost use to 70,000. 
According to reports, Globally, flights to Switzerland, France and Germany have grown four times in October from a year ago
