Interacting with members of the revamped Council of Ministers a day after the reshuffle, Modi said some leaders are now not part of the government due to certain situations and circumstances, in an apparent reference to Ravi Shankar Prasad and Prakash Javadekar who resigned before the Cabinet rejig.
Reports said that the Prime Minister appreciated Prasad and Javadekar for their work.
Other ministers who quit the government on Wednesday included Harsh Vardhan from health and Ramesh Pokhriyal 'Nishank' from education.
In a word of advice, the PM said it is the work that only matters and the ministers should not get trapped in the vicious circle of grabbing media attention.

Yoga guru Ramdev on Sunday withdrew his recent statements on allopathic medicine which had triggered strong protests from the medical fraternity.
Responding to a letter from Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan, Ramdev said he wants to put the matter to rest.
"Hon&rsquo;ble Minister, I have received your letter. I withdraw my statement, putting to rest the controversy over various medical practices," Ramdev tweeted from his personal Twitter handle, attaching his statement.
Citing a video circulating on social media, the Indian Medical Association had on Saturday demanded prosecution of Ramdev for calling allopathy a "stupid science" amid&nbsp;the Covid pandemic.

The minister said in his tweet that &lsquo;awareness and early diagnosis can help curb the spread of the fungal infection&rsquo;. He shared four slides on Black Fungus, its symptoms and required action once someone contracts the infection.
Mucormycosis mainly affects people with medical health problems, the minister said, adding that people having co-morbities, uncontrolled diabetes or prolonged ICU stay can get predisposed to the fungal infection.
Pain or redness around eyes, fever, headache, coughing, shortness of breath, bloody vomits and altered mental status are possible symptoms of the infection, he further added.
