Veteran actor Harrison Ford says he has no plans to retire, embraces roles for older actors, and receives his first Emmy nomination for Shrinking.

It has been almost six decades for Hollywood star Harrison Ford in the industry, but he has no plans to retire and believes there are parts for all ages to play when it comes to acting.
The 83-year-old actor made his debut in 1966 with "Dead Heat on a Merry-Go-Round" and has numerous projects to his credit, including "Blade Runner", "The Fugitive", "Star Wars", "Indiana Jones", and "American Graffiti", among others.
Asked if he has plans to retire anytime soon, Ford simply said "No".
"No. That&rsquo;s one of the things I thought was attractive about the job of an actor, was that they need old people, too, to play old people&rsquo;s parts," he told entertainment news outlet Variety in an interview.
The actor also discussed receiving his first Emmy nomination for the performance in the drama series "Shrinking".
He has been nominated in the Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series category at the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards.
"I don&rsquo;t think there&rsquo;s anything competitive about creativity, and I don&rsquo;t understand the need to compare and contrast one person&rsquo;s work to another&rsquo;s. If you like it, you like it; if you don&rsquo;t like it, look at something else," Ford said.
"I&rsquo;m grateful, but I would have done what I did &mdash; and I&rsquo;ll do what I&rsquo;m doing &mdash; regardless of whether it&rsquo;s deemed worthy of mention or not. Because it&rsquo;s what I do. It&rsquo;s what I love doing. I love telling stories. I love pretending to be somebody else," he added.
Created by Bill Lawrence, Jason Segel, and Brett Goldstein, the first season of "Shrinking" premiered in January 2023, followed by another season in October 2024. The third season of the series is slated to release on Apple TV+ in 2026.

Veteran star Harrison Ford, who is set to reprise his role as an archaeologist in 'Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny', remembered Indian cinema legend Amrish Puri and called him a 'sophisticated and charming man'.
The duo had worked together in the 1984 film 'Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom'. Puri starred as antagonist Mola Ram in the film, directed by Steven Spielberg.
Sharing fond memories with the late actor, Harrison told PTI that Amrish was a wonderful person and nothing like the character he played in the film. He said he admired him and enjoyed working with him.
'He was a wonderful person, a very charming man. (He was) nothing like the character that he played in our film. Very sophisticated. I really admired him and enjoyed working with him. We had a good time together. And yes, I remember when he passed,' Ford told PTI in a virtual roundtable interview.
Amrish Puri was primarily known for his negative roles in films such as 'Mr India', 'Vishwatma' and 'Tridev'. He left a lasting impression in movies such as 'Mandi', 'Pardes' and 'Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge'.
He died aged 72 in 2005 at a Mumbai hospital.
In his autobiography 'The Act of Life', Puri wrote how he was initially disinterested in the part of Mola Ram. I
'Temple of Doom', based on a story by 'Star Wars' creator George Lucas, didn&rsquo;t release in India. Puri and actor Roshan Seth were criticised by many for being 'anti-national' for appearing in the film. In 'Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny', Ford returns as the titular character, now on the cusp of retirement as a professor of archaeology, who is forced to go on a thrilling, globe-trotting adventure to help his estranged goddaughter, Helena Shaw, played by Phoebe Waller-Bridge. The film, directed by James Mangold of 'Logan' fame, is set in 1969.
June 22, 2023, marks Amrish Puri's 91st birth anniversary.
