"Fighting more infectious variants like Delta Plus and Delta is possible through mixing two different Covid-19 vaccines. However, more data is required before a final approval is given to combine two vaccines," Dr Guleria told NDTV.
"This is something that has been looked at in the past - giving one vaccine as the priming shot and another as the booster. Some data suggests mixing vaccines leads to slightly higher side effects, but&nbsp;other data suggests it may lead to better immunity and antibody protection,"&nbsp;Dr Guleria said.
Last month, the Centre said that under its new vaccination policy, government scientists will study various combinations of Covid-19 vaccine doses to see if this could lead to more efficacy.
