Gopichand P Hinduja, chairman of the global Hinduja Group and one of India&rsquo;s most influential business leaders, passed away in London at 85. He was unwell for several weeks.

Gopichand P Hinduja, chairman of globe-spanning Hinduja Group, died in London at the age of 85, sources close to his family said.
Fondly known as 'GP' in business circles, Gopichand P. Hinduja was unwell for past few weeks and died in a London hospital, they said.
Gopichand, who belonged to the second generation of the Hinduja family, took over as chairman following the death of his elder brother Srichand in May 2023.
He is survived by his wife, Sunita, sons Sanjay and Dheeraj, and daughter, Rita.

India's badminton coach Pullela Gopichand has lauded Kidambi Srikanth for winning a historic silver medal at BWF World Championships.
In a chat with&nbsp;PTI, Gopichand said that Srikanth's game got sharper as the tournament progresses, and gained confidence after beating Malaysia's Lee Zii Jia and Japan's Kento Momota in the year 2021.
However, Gopichand advised Srikanth to curb his errors to be more consistent going forward as big-ticket events such as Commonwealth Games and Asian Games are lined up in the year 2022.
Notably, Srikanth will be defending his men's singles title at the Commonwealth Games 2022.

Since&nbsp;Sindhu has been training under her Korean coach and&nbsp;Chirag and Satwik&nbsp;are being guided by their coach from Denmark, Gopichand&nbsp;decided to opt out. The Indian badminton contingent will now comprise of 9 members, including 3 foreign coaches and 4 players.
It was under Gopichand&rsquo;s guidance that&nbsp;Saina Nehwal and PV Sindhu claimed a bronze and a silver medal at London and Rio Games respectively.&nbsp;
