Film producer Goldie Behl opened up about the recent boycott trend and shared his opinion about its impact on films. He also talked about &lsquo;Liger&rsquo;, starring Ananya Panday and Vijay Deverakonda, which tanked at the box office after facing boycott calls on social media.
In an interview with Spotbye, Goldie said that no film can tank at the box office because of the boycott trend. He firmly believes that if a film connects with the audience, nothing can stop it from succeeding. The producer further mentioned that it&rsquo;s unfortunate that people are building up negativity.
&lsquo;It&rsquo;s really unfortunate that people are building up this negativity. I don&rsquo;t know if such hate campaigns are affecting the performances of the film or if it's coinciding with the film, not doing well. A good movie will work despite all odds,&rsquo; he said.
Directed by Puri Jagannadh, &lsquo;Liger&rsquo; also starred actors like Ronit Roy and Ramya Krishnan in pivotal roles. The boxing legend Mike Tyson had a special cameo in the film. According to Hindustan Times, following the failure of &lsquo;Liger&rsquo;, Vijay&rsquo;s next film &lsquo;Jana Gana Mana&rsquo; has been shelved. The project was to be helmed by Puri Jagannadh.
