Several countries, including small island states, said they were deeply disappointed by the change promoted by India to &ldquo;phase down,&rdquo; rather than &ldquo;phase out&rdquo; coal power, the single biggest source of greenhouse gas emissions.
India, China and several developing countries, including Iran, Venezuela and Cuba, objected to this provision that called upon countries to accelerate &ldquo;efforts towards the phase-out of unabated coal power and inefficient fossil fuel subsidies&rdquo;.

Thunberg accused world leaders of being afraid of the truth and said that what is happening inside the conference hall is merely &lsquo;blah blah blah&rsquo;

India has not only exceeded the Paris commitments but has now also set an ambitious agenda for the next 50 years, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Tuesday after he took part in two days of intense discussions with world leaders at the climate summit on the future of the planet.
