German Embassy in India on Sunday hailed India's digital infrastructure, calling it one of the country's success stories. The high praise for India's digital payment model came after Germany's Federal Minister for Digital and Transport, Volker Wissing, used UPI to make a payment in India and was "very fascinated" by the experience.

Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, German Embassy in India stated, "One of India&rsquo;s success story is digital infrastructure. UPI enables everybody to make transactions in seconds. Millions of Indians use it. Federal Minister for Digital and Transport @Wissing was able to experience the simplicity of UPI payments first-hand and is very fascinated!

A bus travelling from Poland to Belgium came off a highway in eastern Germany on Friday and overturned, injuring 35 people, six of them seriously, officials said.
The accident happened on the A2 highway near Magdeburg, west of Berlin, in the early hours of the morning. Police said there were 54 people on board, aged between about 10 and 60, German news agency dpa reported.
It wasn't immediately clear how the bus came off the highway, skidded and ended up on its roof next to a roadside ditch. The bus was owned by Polish tour operator Sindbad.
The company's deputy CEO, Bogdan Kurys, said the vehicle was on a regular trip between Warsaw and Belgium, with two drivers on board, according to Polish state news agency PAP.

A huge aquarium in the centre of Berlin burst Friday, causing a wave of devastation in and around the Sea Life tourist attraction, German police said Friday.

Glass and other debris were swept out of the building, which also contains a hotel and cafes, as 1 million litres of water poured out of the 25-metre (82-foot) -high aquarium shortly before 6 a.m. (0500GMT).
Berlin's fire service said two people were lightly injured and rescue dogs were being prepared to search the building for anyone who might be trapped under debris.
There was speculation that freezing temperatures of down to minus 10 degrees Celsius (14 Fahrenheit) overnight had caused a crack in the tank, which then exploded under the weight of the water. Police said the cause of the incident was still being investigated but there was no evidence that it was the result of an attack.
Witness Gwendolin Szyszkowitz told German news channel n-tv that she heard a loud bang and initially feared a bomb had exploded.

The 10-minute elevator ride through the tank was one of the highlights of the attraction.
