Days after Delhi's GB Pant hospital sparked a row with its controversial &lsquo;no Malayalam&rsquo; circular, the superintendent of the medical institute has apologized for hurting the sentiments of the Malayali-speaking staff. He also said that circular was issued in a positive sense but it was misinterpreted and that I didn't get a chance to explain.
The circular had directed&nbsp; the nursing staff in the hospital &lsquo;to use only Hindi and English for communication" as &lsquo;maximum patients and colleagues do not know&rsquo; Malayalam. The nurses body had objected to the circular asking why was Malayalam being singled out.
Following a row, the circular was withdrawn.
