Russia on Sunday said the G20 Summit under India's presidency was a "breakthrough" conclave in many ways as its outcomes showed a path to the world to move forward on a range of challenges and demonstrated the strength and importance of the Global South. &nbsp;In a press briefing, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said India played an important role in "preventing the West" from taking forward their approach on many issues, including Ukraine.
The summit declaration clearly sent across a message that military conflicts in the world must be resolved according to the UN Charter and that the Western powers will not be able to press ahead with their concepts of resolution of various crises.
"It is a breakthrough summit in many ways. It provides us a way forward to move ahead in many issues," he added.
Lavrov also noted that the G20 Summit in New Delhi provided a direction towards fairness in global governance and global finance as well.
"I want to express my gratitude to India for preventing attempts to politicise the G20," he said, adding the West will not be able to remain a "hegemony" as we see new centres of power coming up in the world.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 9 welcomed a host of world leaders, including US President Joe Biden and UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak at the Bharat Mandapam, the venue of the G20 Summit.

MapMyIndia would help users by suggesting a route around restricted areas and navigate destinations closest to their original destination during the G20 summit

Domestic navigation services company MapMyIndia has collaborated with Delhi Police to show real-time traffic updates on its Mapples app during the G20 Summit, the company said on Wednesday.
The Mapples navigation map will show the latest traffic conditions, affected by VIP movements and other unforeseen circumstances during the G20 Summit, a company statement said.
"Delhi Police shared all the planned traffic restrictions and road closures. We ingested the same into our routing, navigation and traffic engine.
"For users, it is still a simple experience - search for the destination and then click on directions and navigate - and we will suggest a route around the restricted area," MapMyIndia CEO and Executive Director Rohan Verma said.
The G20 Summit is scheduled to be held on September 9 and 10.
In case of route closures due to traffic restrictions, Mapples App users can discover alternate routes and navigate to destinations closest to their original destination, the statement said.
