According to an Economic Times report, Foxconn plans to establish a smartphone display module assembly unit, primarily supplying to Apple and its contract manufacturers.
The report further adds that creating local assembly units will help reduce supply chain delays and costs, benefiting brands by shortening delivery times.

In a move to reduce the disparity between its manufacturing operations in India and its primary production hub in China, Apple has setup its production unit to manufacture iPhone 15 in Tamil Nadu. According to reports, a Foxconn Technology Group plant in Sriperumbudur is preparing to deliver the newest devices only weeks after they start shipping from factories in China.&nbsp;
The reports further adds that the scale of production of iPhones in India will largely depend on the ready availability of the components that are largely imported. The production lines have been ramped up at the facility in Chennai.
iPhone 15: Features, cost and release date
The new iPhone 15 Pro models might be pricier, as per reports. The regular iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus could be available at the same prices. This is based on talks with Asian supply chain companies.
As per reports, iPhone 15 might be available for $799 in the US and Rs 79,900 in India.&nbsp;
This would be the second time Apple would sell the regular model for the same price as the iPhone 13. The iPhone 15 Plus might be priced at $899 or Rs 89,900.

In what can be viewed as a decisive move to rely less on China, Foxconn plans to invest $700 million in a new plant in Karnataka and also set up a new manufacturing facility in Telangana.&nbsp;
Both these projects are among Foxconn&rsquo;s biggest outlays to date in India. Together, these project have the potential to create 1 lakh jobs each in both states. As per reports, Foxconn is planning to build the manufacturing facility on a 300-acre site near the city of Bengaluru, India&rsquo;s IT hub, where it plans to manufacture iPhone components and may also assemble the devices. This move also clearly underscores how China is at risk of losing its status as the world&rsquo;s largest producer of consumer electronics.&nbsp;

India has offered financial incentives to Apple suppliers such as Foxconn, which began making the latest generation of iPhones at a site in Tamil Nadu last year.

Taiwanese electronics giant, Foxconn will establish a manufacturing facility in Telangana which will create employment generation potential for over 1,00,000 people.
A release from the Chief Minister&rsquo;s office said Hon Hai Technology Group (Foxconn) and the state government have signed an agreement at Pragati Bhavan where Foxconn Chairman, Young Liu called on Rao.
The 'historic deal' has potential to generate employment to over one lakh people over a period of 10 years.
The CM said his &ldquo;government is on a mission to transform Telangana for better and has undertaken several marquee projects to realise the vision of Bangaru Telangana. Foxconn&rsquo;s unit will help in generating large scale employment to youth and will help attract more such industries to the state.&rdquo; Rao emphasized that Telangana considers Taiwan as a natural partner and that the state is glad to be a part of Foxconn&rsquo;s growth story.
He called Foxconn's huge investment and the opportunity to create more than one lakh jobs like never before in Telangana 'commendable.' The Chief Minister further said steps will be taken to ensure that one lakh jobs are available to the state's youth and assured Young Liu that his government will provide necessary support to Foxconn for its operations in the state.
The Foxconn Chairman lauded the friendly industrial development eco system created in Telangana and expressed happiness over the progress achieved by the state in the industrial sector, especially in IT and related electronics sectors, in just eight years.
