India's Kush Maini was on Tuesday named as one of the drivers for Mahindra Racing at the upcoming ABB FIA Formula E World Championship Rookie Test in Berlin, Germany on July 14.
It marks the latest collaboration between Maini and Mahindra Racing, the only Indian team currently competing at World Championship level in motorsport, as part of the FIA&rsquo;s all-electric racing series.
&ldquo;I was really impressed with the Mahindra M11Electro in Jeddah, it&rsquo;s a great car to drive and I can&rsquo;t wait to experience it again in Berlin," Maini said in a release.
&ldquo;Mahindra is a manufacturer I&rsquo;ve worked with first-hand a lot over the last 18 months, and I&rsquo;ve seen the hard work and development that has gone into improving the team&rsquo;s results on-track.
&ldquo;It&rsquo;s a great source of pride for me to represent them, and to help them push on and keep that rate of development going.&rdquo; Earlier this season, Maini, 24, set the benchmark time under the lights in a dedicated Rookie Free Practice session in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, his first taste of the Mahindra M11Electro and Formula E&rsquo;s GEN3 Evo era.
That followed on from Season 10, in which Maini served as Mahindra Racing&rsquo;s official Reserve Driver and also participated in last year&rsquo;s Rookie Test around the Tempelhof Airport Street Circuit.
Maini has also impressed in his full-time racing activities in FIA Formula 2. He recently claimed victory on the streets of Monaco, taking his tally to two career victories and seven podium finishes as one of the series&rsquo; standout names.
Maini will conduct a full day of running at the test, with the team set to confirm its other participating driver in due course.
"The whole point of the Berlin Rookie Test is to encourage and nurture the next generation of potential Formula E stars, and Kush is definitely a talent to watch in that regard," Mahindra Racing CEO &amp; Team Principal, Frederic Bertrand said.

Williams said the new deal will keep Albon at the team &ldquo;into the new era of Formula 1 regulations,&rdquo; which kick off in 2026. It did not give more details.
&ldquo;I am incredibly happy to be remaining with Williams Racing and to continue working with such a talented and dedicated team of people," Albon said in a press release.
The 28-year-old Albon is in his third consecutive season with Williams. He has yet to score a point this year.
&ldquo;It has been a difficult start to the year but since joining Williams we have made significant progress together and I have seen the huge changes happening behind the scenes to take us back to the front of the grid," he said.
Albon started his career in 2019 with Red Bull's junior team but was dropped by Red Bull in 2020. Albon last season scored 27 points to help Williams finish seventh in the constructors' championship, the team's best result in six years.

Verstappen basically led from start to finish except briefly after a pit stop. He was followed across the finish line by Red Bull teammate Sergio Perez &mdash; 12.5 seconds behind &mdash; and Carlos Sainz of Ferrari. Sainz was 20 seconds off the pace.
The three-time defending F1 champion is again this season's points leader and now has won 22 of the last 26 races dating from the start of the 2023 season. Only two other drivers have won in that span &mdash; Red Bull teammate Perez and Sainz, the winner in Australia two weeks ago.
Responding to a question, Sainz suggested that Verstappen and Red Bull are so dominant that the season might already be over after just four of 24 races.
"I think they are definitely going to have an advantage in the first third of the season until we bring in one or two upgrades," Sainz said.
"But by that time maybe it's a bit too late with the advantage they might have in the championship." Verstappen, of course, said the season would be competitive and suggested Red Bull might struggle in street races.
"It's still a very long season," he said.
'I don't want to think about the rest of the season too much." A red flag just seconds into the tightly packed first lap when Alex Albon and Daniel Ricciardo clipped each other on the second turn and crashed out halted the race.
That was basically the only real drama.
"The critical bit was the start to stay ahead and after that the car just got better and better," Verstappen said later.
"It couldn't have been any better." Both Albon and Ricciardo walked away, apparently without serious injuries. The restart was delayed 30 minutes to get the cars off the track and clear debris.
Verstappen, who now has 57 career wins, pushed his season points total to 77 and is 13 clear of Perez on 64. Ferrari's Charles Leclerc follows with 59 with Sainz on 55.
"It's nice to win, and it's nice to win here in Japan," said Verstappen, whose car is powered by a Honda engine.
"It's always an important race for us and it's great to win here in front of Honda." "Melbourne felt like a bit of a hiccup," he added.
"But what we did today is what we want to do and that's what we aim to do every single weekend." Japanese driver Yuki Tsunoda, driving for the RB team, finished 10th to earn a point.
The next race is the Chinese Grand Prix in Shanghai in two weeks. F1 has not run there since 2019 with four races called off becasue of the COVID-19 pandemic.
An F1 sprint race will also be run in China a day before the GP, cutting down practice time on an unfamiliar track.
"It's going to be quite hectic," Verstappen said.
"We've haven't been there in a while &mdash; only one practice session to get into it again. So I think it will be quite interesting." Verstappen, Perez and Sainz were all critical of squeezing in the sprint, which cuts out practice time. But they said it might make the weekend more entertaining for fans and drive interest and revenue.
"I think it's not great," Verstappen said.
"When you have been away from a track for quite a while, you never know what you're going to experience. It would have been better to have a normal race weekend." Sainz added: "I think it's not a good choice to put the sprint after four or five years absence. We also heard there is resurfacing going on." The Japanese GP was run in the midst of the cherry blossom season across the Japanese archipelago. The Suzuka track was built by Honda and is still run by the Japanese car builder. It's set southwest of Nagoya, Japan's fourth largest city, in a center of heavy industry.
Verstappen, 26, put down rumours early this week that he might leave Red Bull, maybe for Mercedes.
"From my side, I'm very happy where I am. And, yeah, we want to keep it that way," he said and even hinted at an early retirement.
"I have a contract with Red Bull until '28," he said.
"After that, I first want to see if I actually even want to continue. That's for me the most important."

Massa has claimed since last year he was the &ldquo;rightful&rdquo; 2008 champion due to the incident known as &ldquo;Crashgate.&rdquo; The 42-year-old Brazilian was runner-up to Lewis Hamilton.
Former Ferrari and Williams driver Massa said in a statement his case would be heard at the King's Bench Division of the High Court.
His decision came after months of preparatory steps that included his lawyers asking auto racing bodies to reply to his public allegations of a breach of contract.
&ldquo;I always said I was going to fight until the end,&rdquo; Massa said in the statement.
&ldquo;Since the FIA and FOM decided not to do anything, we will seek to right this historical injustice in court. The matter is now for our lawyers and they are fully authorized to do whatever is necessary so justice in sport is served.&rdquo;
His allegations relate to the 2008 Singapore Grand Prix, where Nelson Piquet Jr. crashed deliberately to help then-Renault teammate Fernando Alonso win the race.
The Renault team was eventually punished but the results stood, leading to Hamilton eventually beating Massa to the drivers' title by one point. Massa never got closer to the title.
Last year, former F1 boss Ecclestone said in an interview with website F1 Insider that he learned through the course of 2008 that Piquet Jr. crashed deliberately. He added he chose not to investigate the incident until the season ended, when it was too late to change the standings.
Piquet Jr.'s crash came when Massa was in front in Singapore. A safety car was brought in, which squandered his lead and gave Alonso a clear advantage as he was the only driver who had already made a pit stop to refuel. Massa went on to finish out of the points in 13th place after a calamitous pit stop, while Hamilton finished third in that race.
Massa's filing says he wants &ldquo;a declaration that the FIA acted in breach of its own regulations in failing to investigate the circumstances of the crash promptly in 2008&rdquo; and &ldquo;a declaration that if the FIA had not acted in breach of its own regulations, it would have canceled or adjusted the results of the Singapore Grand Prix with the consequence that Mr Massa would have won the drivers' championship in 2008.&rdquo; The FIA told the AP it will not comment.
FOM has not answered a request for comment from the AP.
Ecclestone could not immediately be reached for comment.
Massa said in an interview with the AP in August that he had more evidence of wrongdoing to support his case. He also said then that he was considering filing other cases related to the same incident in other countries.

Indian Oil Corporation or IOC, India's leading oil company, plans to manufacture production of fuel for Formula One racing within three months, expanding its range of specialty fuels.
IOC recently introduced 'Storm' petrol for the Asian region motorcycle road racing championship, marking its entry into manufacturing fuels for road racing.
"Today, we are partnering with FIM Asia Road Racing Championship for the supply of 'Storm'. We are the first company in India to manufacture fuel of specifications used in road racing," IOC Chairman Madhav Vaidya said.
"Our R&amp;D (research and development) in two months will be able to produce Category-1 fuel and in three months Formula 1 fuel," he said."Unless we go to F1, the journey is not complete."
IOC further said that it will supply fuel for all the motorcyclists from 15 countries that will participate in the upcoming FIM Asia Road Racing Championship.

The FIA on Tuesday confirmed its compliance officer has received two complaints “detailing potential allegations involving certain members of its governing body" in seeming reference to recent whistleblower claims against the president of Formula 1's governing body.

The BBC reported this week that FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem allegedly intervened to overturn a penalty given to Fernando Alonso at last year's Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.

The FIA on Tuesday confirmed its compliance officer has received two complaints &ldquo;detailing potential allegations involving certain members of its governing body" in seeming reference to recent whistleblower claims against the president of Formula 1's governing body.
The BBC reported this week that FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem allegedly intervened to overturn a penalty given to Fernando Alonso at last year's Saudi Arabian Grand Prix. A second BBC report says the same whistleblower also claims Ben Sulayem told officials not to certify the Las Vegas circuit for its race last November.
&ldquo;The Compliance Department is assessing these concerns, as is common practice in these matters, to ensure that due process is meticulously followed,&rdquo; the FIA said in its statement.
The FIA confirmed no details about the allegations or even that Ben Sulayem is the target. In an additional statement given to The Associated Press, an FIA spokesman said: &ldquo;It is unfortunate and a source of great concern that the matter has been disclosed to the media without any prior authorization and that certain elements of the report were inaccurately reported.&rdquo;
The BBC reports follow a dramatic month in which Red Bull investigated team principal Christian Horner over allegations of misconduct with a team employee. The complaint was dismissed days before Saturday's season-opening race in Bahrain, won by Max Verstappen of Red Bull.
Even after Horner was cleared by Red Bull's parent company, a trove of evidence that had allegedly been presented against him in the investigation was leaked to more than 100 industry members during practice in Bahrain. Horner has denied all allegations and his wife, Geri Halliwell, was by his side on race day for Red Bull's 1-2 finish.
After the race, Verstappen's father told The Daily Mail the team will implode if Horner is not removed from his position.
The whistleblower is believed to be a former FIA employee who currently works for Formula One Management, a person with direct knowledge of the complaints told AP speaking on condition of anonymity because the name and other details are not being disclosed by FIA.
It is the second time in a year that allegations have surfaced in the F1 paddock against Ben Sulayem in what appears to be a bitter power struggle between the governing body and F1 itself. Ben Sulayem was elected FIA president by its membership in 2021 just days after the controversial season finale cost Lewis Hamilton a record-breaking eighth title and gave Verstappen his first world championship.
In the latest allegations, the whistleblower told the BBC that Ben Sulayem called Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa - the FIA&rsquo;s vice president for sport for the Middle East and North Africa region &mdash; to make clear he thought a 10-second penalty against Alonso should be rescinded for work done on his car while he was serving a previous five-second penalty.
The penalty dropped Alonso from third place to fourth. The penalty was overturned and Alonso nudged George Russell of Mercedes off the podium.
In its second report, the BBC reported that Ben Sulayem told race stewards to find a way not to declare the Las Vegas circuit safe for racing.
The temporary street course was not completed in time to be inspected in the FIA's required window ahead of an event. The inspection happened early in the morning of the first practice and Carlos Sainz Jr. ran over a loose drain cover that destroyed his Ferrari and ended the session after just nine minutes.
The entire course had to be reinspected, leading to lengthy delays and a second practice that ended at 4 a.m.
The BBC said the whistleblower was contacted by their manager, &ldquo;who on behest of the FIA president instructed him to find some concerns to prevent the FIA from certifying the circuit before the weekend of the race&rdquo;. The compliance report quotes the whistleblower as saying that &ldquo;the purpose was to find fault with the track in order to withhold the license&rdquo;.
The Las Vegas Grand Prix debut race was the first promoted by F1 and commercial rights holder Liberty Media, and an estimated $500 million was spent on the event.

British police said Monday that they have recovered a Ferrari stolen from Austrian Formula One driver Gerhard Berger in Italy almost three decades ago.
The red Ferrari F512M was one of two sports cars taken while their drivers were in Imola for the San Marino Grand Prix in April 1995.
Neither was ever found, until London's Metropolitan Police force was tipped off by the manufacturer in January that a Ferrari in the process of being sold to a US buyer by a UK broker had been flagged as a stolen vehicle.
The force's Organised Vehicle Crime Unit investigated and found the car had been brought to Britain from Japan in late 2023. Officers seized the car, which the force said is valued at close to 350,000 pounds (USD 444,000).
&ldquo;Our inquiries were painstaking and included contacting authorities from around the world,&rdquo; said Constable Mike Pilbeam, who led the investigation.
&ldquo;We worked quickly with partners including the National Crime Agency, as well as Ferrari and international car dealerships, and this collaboration was instrumental in understanding the vehicle's background and stopping it from leaving the country.&rdquo; No one has been arrested, and the second stolen Ferrari remains missing.
Ferrari manufactured 501 of the F512M model between 1994 and 1996. The car has a top speed of 315 kilometres an hour (196 miles per hour).&nbsp;

The 92-year-old billionaire agreed to a civil settlement of 652.6 million pounds (USD 803 million) over funds that were owed to Britain's tax office.
Ecclestone was handed a 17-month term, suspended for two years, at Southwark Crown Court in London. Earlier Thursday, he pleaded guilty to a charge that he failed to declare a trust in Singapore with a bank account containing around $650 million when he was asked in 2015 about any trusts abroad that he was involved in.
Prosecutors allege he claimed he had set up "only a single trust" in favour of his three daughters, and that he was "not the settler nor beneficiary of any trust in or outside the UK". Prosecutors say he acted "dishonestly" and intended to make a gain from the claims.
"He now accepts that some tax is due in relation to these matters," prosecutor Richard Wright said.
A judge described his offense as serious but added he had taken into consideration factors including Ecclestone's health and age when handing down the sentence.
Ecclestone had pleaded not guilty to the charges earlier this year.
His defense lawyer, Christine Montgomery, told the judge on Thursday that he "bitterly regrets the events that led to this criminal trial." The business magnate headed Formula One racing and controlled the sport for for four decades from the 1970s to 2017, when he stepped down as chief executive and Liberty Media took over the series.
In recent years he has drawn attention for public comments praising Russian President Vladimir Putin and defending him over the invasion of Ukraine, including last year when he said that he would &ldquo;take a bullet&rdquo; for the Russian leader.
Formula One distanced itself from Ecclestone's comments, saying they did not represent its views, and Ecclestone later apologised.&nbsp;

Emilia Romagna Grand Prix became the second race to be cancelled this season after the Chinese Grand Prix was called off due to pandemic-related restrictions earlier in the year.

The highly anticipated Emilia Romagna Grand Prix, slated for this weekend, has been cancelled due to safety concerns arising from severe weather conditions. Formula One, together with local authorities and the race promoter in Imola, reached a unanimous agreement that proceeding with the event would pose significant risks due to the potential for flooding.
The decision to cancel the Grand Prix was driven not only by the safety of the participants but also by the desire to alleviate the strain on the community and emergency services in the region.
Discussions involving Formula 1 officials, the President of the FIA, relevant ministers, the President of the Automobile Club of Italy, the President of the Emilia-Romagna Region, the Mayor of the City, and the race promoter led to the joint conclusion that it would be inappropriate to proceed with the event at this time.
Stefano Domenicali, the head of Formula One, expressed deep sorrow over the situation, particularly given his personal connection to the region. He stated, "It is such a tragedy to see what has happened to Imola and Emilia-Romagna, the town and region that I grew up in, and my thoughts and prayers are with the victims of the flooding and the families and communities affected."
The decision to cancel the Grand Prix came after Italy's deputy prime minister, Matteo Salvini, called for its postponement due to the extreme weather conditions wreaking havoc in the region.
The Emilia Romagna area was placed under a red threat-level warning by Italian authorities as heavy rainfall persisted, posing a significant risk of flooding and landslides.
Regrettably, rescheduling the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix later in the year seems highly unlikely, as Formula One faces a packed calendar and logistical constraints. With this cancellation, the season will consist of 22 races instead of the anticipated record-breaking 23.
As Formula One mourns the loss of this thrilling race, the focus now shifts to supporting the affected communities in their recovery efforts and providing assistance to those impacted by the devastating floods.

 It were Pep Guardiola&rsquo;s men who rode to victory in the Premier League on the back of Manchester United, claimed their 5th&nbsp;trophy. Rivals Manchester United finished 2nd&nbsp;on the league ahead of Liverpool as City finished on top with 86 points and an incredible 27 wins from 38 games.
 La Liga title:
 Atletico Madrid clinched their 11th title La Liga crown after pipping their city rivals Real Madrid who finished 2nd. Barcelona finished a distant third as Lionel Messi finished as the top goal scorer of the league with 30 strikes in his last season with the Catalan side.

In July, Argentina rose to the occasion as they won their first Copa America title in 28 years after handing Brazil a 1-0 loss in the final. 15th&nbsp;Copa America title for Argentina but more importantly this was Lionel Messi first major title of his career.&nbsp;

Football&rsquo;s transfer market also remained hot during the season with the two biggest names in the sport making headlines.&nbsp;
CR7 returned home:
Juventus bid adieu to Cristiano Ronaldo as he returned to play for Manchester United after a gap of 12 years. The Portuguese star signed a 2-year-contract worth approximately 15 million euros to return to Old Trafford.
Messi&rsquo;s shift from Barcelona to PSG&nbsp;&nbsp;
Until August 2021, imagining Lionel Messi in a jersey apart from Barcelona was almost impossible. But his 21-year long stay with the Spanish club came to an end after Barcelona announced that they could not sign a new deal with the footballer due to financial reasons which left Messi quite emotional.

Till the very last lap of the season, fans were on the edge of their seats as Verstappen won the race in controversial circumstances. Mercedes&rsquo; appeals later were rejected by the FIA as Verstappen remained the F1 Champion.
