In the second year of the pandemic, people&nbsp;on the Internet&nbsp;were often left bemused owing to countless, bizarre recipes that emerged from road-side food stalls.

Year Ender 2021: The first year of the pandemic got us trying complex recipes off the Internet&nbsp;and the second year, that is 2021, got some of us experimenting with bizarre ingredients and recipe ideas. In an attempt to make viral food trends, some people on the Internet&nbsp;cooked up a storm with whatever was available in their pantries. And the results? Well, let&rsquo;s take a look at some of them.
<h3>Rasgulla&nbsp;Chaat</h3>
Little balls of heavenly goodness, rasgullas met a disastrous fate when a Delhi vendor decided to make a chaat out of them. Adding tamarind pulp, yoghurt and topping with dry fruits, the final dish really didn't seem tempting at all, but amused us nonetheless.&nbsp;
<h3>Paan&nbsp;Brownie</h3>
When a dessert and mouth freshener&nbsp;came together, the Internet&nbsp;was surely left shell shocked. in Ahmedabad, a fast-food joint decided to pull off a delicious meal ender with a sizzling hot brownie, ice cream and then a full blown paan. Would you try this?
<h3>Oreo Pakoda</h3>
Pakoda, a hint of sunshine on a rainy day for any Indian, became the pawn of an Ahmedabad based restaurant&rsquo;s food trial. While aloo, pyaaz, gobhi are some commonly loved variations of a pakoda, how does your appetite feel when you see your favourite oreo being dunked in a besan batter instead of milk and then deep fried in a kadhai full of hot oil?
<h3>Rooh Afzah Maggie</h3>
Maggie, another much loved but greatly experimented with food item, was once again in the spotlight when a generous amount of Rooh Afzah was poured all over it. A simple but delicious plate of maggie turned red (probably in anger) when the desi concentrated squash was mixed to it.&nbsp;
<h3>Chocolate Masala&nbsp;Sweet Corn</h3>
Sweet corn, just as the name suggests, is a sweet simple food item that is often mixed with some salt, butter and a sprinkle of masala. But when chocolate is added to this mix, we aren&rsquo;t very sure what to feel about it.&nbsp;

Well, a&nbsp;US study has found that Gen Z wants to eat less meat but does not shy away from their munchies.&nbsp;Making food a large sum of their total expenditure, Gen Z also spends about 23% of their&nbsp;budget&nbsp;on food, found the bi-annual Piper Sandler report.&nbsp;&nbsp;
So, what is Gen Z eating? The survey of 7,000 teens found three key food trends common amongst the kids.&nbsp;&nbsp;
<h3>No additives for us, please!&nbsp;</h3>
Clean eating is incredibly important to Gen Z. Both boys and girls in the survey expressed a preference for organic or natural food, free of any additives. This&nbsp;shows that paying attention to the ingredients labels is not an exception but a norm!&nbsp;
<h3>Give me all the snacks!&nbsp;&nbsp;</h3>
While the older gen may prefer proper&nbsp;sit-down&nbsp;meals, Gen Z is more into snacks and short meals dispersed throughout the day.&nbsp;More than half (or 54 per cent) of the&nbsp;teens&nbsp;surveyed said they&nbsp;invest in healthy snacks, but only 3 per cent of them said they reach out for fruit or veg as their snack of choice.&nbsp;
<h3>Reducing meat is a big feat!&nbsp;</h3>
Half of everyone surveyed claimed they have already reduced their meat consumption&nbsp;and 15 per cent said they have switched to&nbsp;plant-based meats.&nbsp;This makes sense as the younger generation is known to raise alarm over the environmental issues with commercial meat production.
