The Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC), Guwahati issued an 'orange alert' for the four districts of Dhubri, South Salmara Mankachar, Goalpara and Kokrajhar for Tuesday.

The overall flood situation remained critical with the death toll in the deluge and landslides at 11 while two others remained missing, officials said.
Road, rail and ferry services remained affected in the state due to heavy rain in several areas.
More than 5.15 people in 65 revenue circles and 1,254 villages of 22 districts remained affected, with Sribhumi the worst-hit district with 1,94,172 flood-hit population.
A total of 165 relief camps are sheltering 31,212 displaced people, while another 157 relief distribution centres are also functional.
A crop area of 12,610 hectares has been inundated, while 94 animals have been washed away in the last 24 hours.
Brahmaputra, Barak and Kopili rivers were flowing above the danger level at multiple places, while other rivers including Subansiri, Burhidihing, Dhansiri, Rukni, Dhaleswari, Katakhal and Kushiyara were also above the red mark as per data released late on Monday evening.

National Conference supremo Farooq Abdullah on Monday called for relocation and rehabilitation of the families affected by the flash floods triggered by heavy rain and cloudbursts that caused widespread devastation in Jammu and Kashmir's Ramban district.
Calling it a "national disaster", he urged the Centre to step in and provide immediate assistance to the affected people.
The landslide-hit Jammu-Srinagar National Highway remained closed for a second consecutive day, with a senior National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) official saying the road clearance operation, underway at 20 locations, was likely to take about six days.
Hundreds of vehicles were left stranded on the strategic 250-kilometre highway after Sunday's heavy rainfall and cloudbursts triggered flash floods, landslides and mudslides in the district.
Three persons, including two minor siblings, were killed and more than 100 people were rescued as the natural calamity caused massive damage to infrastructure, including roads and residential buildings. A number of vehicles were also buried under the debris.
"This is a very big disaster -- it is actually a national disaster. Entire villages have been affected. Three people have died and we are still uncertain about the full extent of the damage. I hope the government of India and the prime minister will provide maximum assistance and support to these people," Abdullah told reporters on the sidelines of a function.
The former chief minister of the erstwhile state said another cloudburst had occurred at a separate location, claiming two more lives.
"These are major natural disasters. We need to act urgently and put measures in place to prevent their recurrence," he said.
Calling for better water management systems, Abdullah laid stress on the need for repairing 'nullahs (canals)' to ensure proper flow and reduce the risk of future disasters.
"We need to fix the canals so that their water flows directly and doesn't scatter. The entire mountain has collapsed. People can no longer live there, they must be relocated and resettled in safer areas," Abdullah said.
He also emphasised "everyone needs to step in -- whether it is the central or the state government" and added, "This is the time to act and save lives." Abdullah highlighted the fragile condition of the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway -- the only all-weather road linking Kashmir with the rest of the country.
"It has been badly affected. If the train had been operational, people could have used it and been safe. Unfortunately, the weather was so bad that even the prime minister could not come (for its inauguration)," he said.
Underscoring the urgent need for alternative connectivity, Abdullah said, "The burden on Mughal Road has increased and people are being stopped at Sundarbani (Rajouri) and released in phases. We have only one road -- it has become a path of destruction." The Mughal Road connects the twin districts of Rajouri and Poonch in the Jammu region with south Kashmir's Shopian district.
Pitching for more tunnels to avoid disasters, he said a tunnel from Doda must be expedited.
"A tunnel on the Mughal Road is also essential. We need multiple alternative routes to connect the region," Abdullah said.

Dozens of houses and a stretch of Jammu-Srinagar National Highway near Panthiyal were damaged, while a number of villages were inaccessible, cutting off from the district headquarters.
Deputy Commissioner Baseer-ul-Haq Chaudhary is closely monitoring the ongoing operations in the affected areas, where educational institutions will remain closed on Monday (April 21, 2025.)
"I have never seen such a weather condition in my entire life. I was woken up by the deafening sound of the cloudburst at around 4.30 a.m. and within no time heard cries for help," Mohammad Hafiz, a Seri Bagna village resident, told PTI.
Seri Bagna village was hit by flash floods that claimed lives of three people &mdash; Aqib Ahmad (12), his brother Mohd Saqib (10) and their neighbour Muni Ram (65).
&ldquo;We managed to pull out the two brothers after a portion of their house collapsed due to the flash floods but both of them had dead,&rdquo; Mr. Hafiz said, adding that the volunteers defied their fear and continued the rescue operation despite heavy rains.
Former Sarpanch Teerath Singh said all the villagers continued their efforts and were hopeful of pulling out Muni Ram, who was alive and stuck under the debris. However, the elderly man could not be saved.
&ldquo;It was a frightening scene as dark clouds were hovering overhead with heavy rains continuing. We lost three precious lives and many houses were damaged,&rdquo; he said.
The scene was no different in Dharam Kund village where police promptly acted and rescued more than 100 villagers, including women and children. &ldquo;It was around 5.30 a.m. when the local stream started overflowing after many deafening sounds of cloudbursts,&rdquo; said Asgar Ali, one of the villagers who lost his house as he praised police's prompt action.
Ranjit Singh, Ali&rsquo;s neighbour and another victim of the flash floods, said his family of three had a narrow escape and they could not retrieve a single item from the house. &ldquo;A number of cars were also washed away,&rdquo; he said.
The villagers have been given shelter at the government middle school with the administration providing necessary support including ration.
Around the same time, Sundari Mohalla and Bowhi Bazar areas were struck by flash floods, dumping muck inside the homes and shops and hotels. &ldquo;Ramban is devastated by this calamity,&rdquo; Jugal Kishore Chib said, hoping to cope up with the situation.
The Weather Department has predicted improvement in the weather from Monday, after two days of widespread rains in the plains and snowfall in higher reaches. Ramban District Administration has launched an extensive rescue and relief operation amidst devastating rains and flash floods that affected several parts of the district.
Accompanied by Ramban Senior Superintendent of Police Kulbir Singh and other senior officers, Deputy Commissioner Chaudhary reviewed the ground situation and coordinated with the specialised teams engaged in relief efforts.
&ldquo;Teams from the police, SDRF, civil volunteers, Army and other stakeholder departments and agencies, besides volunteers from the local NGOs are actively engaged in rescue and restoration operations across the affected areas,&rdquo; an official said.
"The administration is implementing government directives with utmost urgency to intensify rescue operations and ensure the safety and welfare of the affected people,&rdquo; DC Chaudhary said.
He appreciated the public response in adhering to advisories issued through social media and other communication channels, noting that people's alertness played a vital role in minimising the loss of lives during the calamity.
While confirming that huge loss of property and damage to infrastructure has been reported from various parts of the district, he appealed to the public to avoid venturing into risky areas, including nallahs and landslide-prone zones, and to remain in safer locations.
The Deputy Commissioner also urged the public to rely only on authentic sources of information and refrain from spreading or believing in rumours.
In view of inclement weather and heavy rain causing flash floods, the Deputy Commissioner said all government and private schools, colleges and technical education institutions shall remain closed on April 21.

It has also warned of isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall in Gujarat in its forecast till Thursday morning.
The release of massive amounts of water from Sardar Sarovar dam (SSD), which touched its full reservoir level of 138.68 metres on Sunday morning, in the Narmada River due to heavy rains in the catchment areas in Madhya Pradesh caused massive flooding in low-lying areas in Narmada district.
A total of 9,613 people hit by floods were shifted to safer locations while 207 others were rescued in Narmada, Bharuch, Vadodara, Dahod and Panchmahal districts, officials said.
Among them, a majority of 5,744 people were relocated in Bharuch, followed by 2,317 in Narmada, 1,462 in Vadodara, 20 in Dahod, and 70 in Panchmahal, they said.
Those shifted to safer places include people from 28 affected villages and those located near the world's tallest monument the Statue of Unity in Narmada district, officials said.
As the Narmada river is in spate after the heavy discharge of water from the dam, parts of Vadodara and Bharuch districts near the river banks were flooded, they said, adding that the situation is being monitored closely to ensure the safety of the affected people.
Apart from Narmada, rain-fed rivers such as Orsang, Heran, Mahi, Meshri and Panam are swollen due to heavy rain coupled with the release of water from various dams, resulting in the inundation of low-lying villages.
Narmada collector Shweta Teotia said rescue efforts were underway and the administration is keeping close tabs on the situation caused by the release of water from the (Sardar Sarovar) dam.
Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel carried out an aerial survey of the region.
Patel was at Ekta Nagar in Narmada district on Sunday morning to offer prayers to the river after the SSD touched the full reservoir level of 138.68 metres.
The government has deployed two teams of NDRF in Narmada, and one each in Bharuch, Rajkot, Junagadh and Vadodara, officials said.
This is in addition to three teams each of the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) being deployed in Narmada and Vadodara and one each SDRF team in Dahod, Bharuch and Banaskantha to carry out relief and rescue operations.
Two teams of Army are on standby in Vadodara, officials added.
National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) personnel and local rescue teams evacuated people stranded in flooded areas, including around 70 students of a residential school in Narmada district, and around 100 labourers trapped under a bridge near a river in Panchmahal district.
Some patients stranded in a hospital in Vasantpara village in Narmada district were also rescued by an NDRF team.
A Sardar Sarovar Narmada Nigam Limited (SSNNL) official said in the evening that the water level of the dam eased below its full reservoir level of 138.68 metres with the inflow of water gradually coming down.
As the water released in the river was reduced, it was likely to ease the flooding situation along the river bank, according to the official.
Parts of Panchmahal, Mahisagar, Sabarkantha, Aravalli, Kheda, Dahod, Vadodara and Ahmedabad districts were among the worst hit by the downpours on Sunday.
Godhra and Sehra talukas in Panchmahal district received 226 mm and 220 mm rainfall in 12 hours till 6 pm on Sunday, the highest in Gujarat for the day.
Virpur taluka (205 mm) in Mahisagar district, Talod (181 mm) of Sabarkantha, and Morva Hadaf (171 mm) of Panchmahal were among around 16 talukas that received over 100 mm of rainfall during this period, as per the State Emergency Operation Centre (SEOC).
At least ten major dams are near their overflowing marks including Ukai, Damanganga, Kadana and Bhadar, the government data shows.
Gujarat has so far received nearly 90.8 per cent of the average annual rainfall, with Kutch and Saurashtra regions recording 137 per cent and 111 per cent rainfall, followed by south, east-central and north Gujarat with 85%, 83% and 76% of rainfall, respectively, as per SEOC data.
