A legal notice has been given to 'Fighter' over kissing scene between lead actors in the film.

Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone&rsquo;s &lsquo;Fighter&rsquo; has received a legal notice over its kissing scene from an officer of the Indian Air Force, Wing Commander Saumya Deep Das.
As per reports, the notice stated that 'IAF uniform is not merely a piece of clothing, it is a powerful symbol of unwavering commitment to duty, national security and selfless service.'
The notice further stated, ''It embodies the highest ideals of sacrifice, discipline, and unwavering dedication to protecting our nation. By utilizing this sacred symbol for a scene promoting personal romantic entanglements, the film grossly misrepresents its inherent dignity and devalues the profound sacrifices made by countless officers in service of our nation."&nbsp;
The notice further criticised the scene that showed the lead characters played by Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone kissing in uniform at an air force base.
"Moreover, it normalises inappropriate behaviour in uniform, setting a dangerous precedent that undermines the moral and ethical standards expected from those entrusted with safeguarding our borders. Kissing in uniform, on a runway which comes under the purview of a technical area, while portrayed as romantic, is considered grossly inappropriate and unbecoming of an IAF officer, as it contradicts the high standards of discipline and decorum expected from them,' the notice read.

However, the box office earnings of 'Fighter' have fallen short of expectations. The director has now reacted to the underwhelming box office collection of the film.

Siddharth Anand recently addressed the subdued box office performance of 'Fighter' at the box office. In a conversation with Galatta Plus, he said several factors can be attributed to the film's low box office collection, one of them being its release on a working day. The film hit theatres on January 25 (Thursday). He said that the choice of midweek release did not work out in the film's favour and emphasised the need for filmmakers to reevaluate expectations.

He further said that being an aerial film, 'Fighter', is unfamiliar to a large section of the audience in India. He added, "Another thing is the genre. 'Fighter' is a huge leap for a filmmaker. It&rsquo;s a space that is unexplored and absolutely new. It has no reference point for the audience. They are like, &lsquo;What are these planes doing?'&rdquo;
Siddharth went on to say that about 90% of the population in the country had never been to an airport or flown in an aeroplane. He emphasised that many people could find the movie's idea, particularly its aerial combat sequences, a little strange. Siddharth did stress, though, that audience quickly realised that 'Fighter' is fundamentally a simple and accessible movie once they step inside the theatre.
In addition to Deepika and Hrithik, the film also stars Mahesh Shetty, Sanjeeda Sheikh, Ashutosh Rana, and Talat Aziz in crucial roles.&nbsp;

About the film
&lsquo;Fighter&rsquo; is India's first aerial action drama which is about the Pulwama attack and what happened before and after it. This time, besides his heroes, director Siddharth Anand has introduced Deepika's character Minni in a cool way. The first half of the movie introduces Air Force pilots, led by Rocky (Anil Kapoor), including Minni, Patty, Taj, and Bash and it has a good balance of emotions and action. The second half is a bit slow but it gets exciting towards the end. The climax with Pakistan bashing rhetoric could have been toned down.
Deepika and Hrithik bring a serious and determined attitude when they're in uniform. Anil Kapoor proves he can compete with the younger actors effortlessly. Playing a stern officer, he embodies the character perfectly with his body language.
Comparison with &lsquo;Pathaan&rsquo;
Having watched Siddharth&rsquo;s last directorial &lsquo;Pathaan&rsquo;, we can honestly say that &lsquo;Fighter&rsquo;s storyline tries its best to balance commercial appeal with emotional depth. While the VFX and action action sequences are brilliant, the writing could have been sharper.
Karan Singh Grover and Sanjeeda Shaikh provide solid support to the main cast. The villain, Azhar Akhtar, played by Rishabh Sawhney, is a weak link in the movie who looks more pretty than menacing.
Overall, &lsquo;Fighter&rsquo; might once again initiate debate about Bollywood's obsession with jingoism and stereotypes.
