Meghalaya Governor Satya Pal Malik is at it again. Malik, who has been attacking Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government at the Centre over the farmers' issues, on Sunday again took a swipe at his own party.
The outspoken governor alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was “arrogant” when he met him to discuss the farmer protests and that he ended up having an argument with him.
"When I went to meet the Prime Minister to discuss the farmer issue, I ended up fighting with him within five minutes. He was very arrogant. When I told him that 500 of our own (farmers) had died… he said, ‘Did they die for me?’ I told him yes, since you are the king. I ended up having an argument with him. He told me to meet Amit Shah and I did),” he said while addressing a social function at Dadri in Haryana.
Malik added that the Centre will have to work with honesty to withdraw cases registered against farmers during the agri laws protest and give a legal framework to MSP for crops.
He warned the Centre that the farmers' agitation has only been suspended, and if there is any injustice, it will start again.
Malik has attacked the Union government multiple times in the recent past over the farm laws. In November, speaking in Jaipur, he had said the Centre will have to eventually concede to the farmers’ demands.

Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut has approached the Bombay High Court seeking to quash the FIR registered against her last month by Mumbai Police after a complaint by a Sikh organization.
The complainants said that Kangana portrayed the farmers' protest on Delhi borders against the farm laws as a Khalistani movement in an Instagram post on November 21.
They had filed a case for 'hurting religious sentiments' against her in Mumbai.
In her post, the actor had referred to "Khalistani terrorists" and invoked former prime minister late Indira Gandhi who "crushed" them.
The actor's petition, filed last month through advocate Rizwan Siddiquee, said that her post was misconstrued and she had no intention of hurting the Sikh community's sentiments.

The Samyukta Kisan Morcha on Wednesday said that a consensus has been reached over a revised draft proposal of the Centre on their pending demands and it will now meet on Thursday to decide the future course of the movement, even as its leaders demanded a formal communication on government letterhead.
Sources in the farmers' umbrella body indicated that once unions receive a formal communication from the government on the agreed fresh draft proposal, the farmers' agitation, which had started at the three Delhi border points - Singhu, Ghazipur and Tikri - on November 26 last year, will be ended soon.
Farmer leader and SKM core committee member Gurnam Singh Chaduni said that the earlier draft from the central government on pending demands was not acceptable to them following which a fresh proposal was received from the Centre on Wednesday.
According to the SKM sources, the fresh proposal sent clarified that the government will include SKM members in the committee on MSP and that governments of Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Haryana have agreed to withdraw cases against farmers with immediate effect. Cases registered against farmers in Delhi will also be withdrawn.
"Consensus has reached on government's fresh proposal. Now, a formal communication signed on the government's letterhead is awaited. SKM will meet again tomorrow at 12 noon, at Singhu Border, to take a formal decision thereafter to lift the morchas,” the SKM said in a statement after a meeting of its core committee.
At a press conference, Chaduni said no decision has been taken yet on calling off agitation and they will decide about suspending the agitation after the meeting tomorrow.
"We are in agreement with the government regarding our demands," he said.
The SKM had formed a five-member panel for a dialogue with the Centre regarding pending demands of farmers including legal guarantee on MSP, withdrawal of cases against farmers registered during the movement and compensation to kins of farmers who died during the agitation.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday raised the issue of compensation to families of farmers who lost their lives during the year-long agitation against the new-repealed farm laws.

They put forwards six demands including that MSP based on the comprehensive cost of production be made a legal entitlement of all farmers for all agricultural produce, sacking and arrest of Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Mishra in connection with Lakhimpur Kheri incident, withdrawal of cases against farmers and building of a memorial for those who lost their lives during the agitation.
Mishra's son was arrested in connection with the death of four protesting farmers in an incident in Lakhimpur Kheri in UP in October.

Meghalaya Governor&nbsp;Satya Pal Malik&nbsp;urged the government to meet the demands of the protesting farmers. While speaking to reporters on the sidelines of an event in Rajasthan, Malik warned that if the demands of the farmers are not met, then the BJP government won&rsquo;t return to power.

A body of a man with chopped limbs has been found tied to a police barricade at the farmers' protest site at&nbsp;Singhu Border.
DSP Sonipat informed that the Kundli police station received&nbsp;information about the gruesome incident at around 5 am but could not get any leads at the site. The police have not yet identified the dead man. An FIR has been filed against an unknown person.A video of the dead man from the protest site has been circulating on social media. Police has not confirmed any rumors so far and has asserted that the investigation is in progress.

Bhartiya Kisan Union (BKU) leader Rakesh Tikait on Sunday reacted to Haryana Police's crackdown upon protesting farmers in Karnal, saying the country has been taken over by 'Sarkari Taliban' who are giving orders to "break the head" of farmers.&nbsp;
Tikait while referring to a controversial video slammed sub-divisional magistrate Ayush Sinha who ordered the police to &lsquo;break the heads of protesters&rsquo;.

Tikait while referring to a controversial video slammed sub-divisional magistrate Ayush Sinha who ordered the police to &lsquo;break the heads of protesters&rsquo;.

Further, the BKU leader mentioned how the BJP flag was put above the national flag over late Kalyan Singh&rsquo;s body, claiming that the party does not show respect for the tricolor.
