Police have issued a traffic advisory for commuters to avoid the roads leading to central Delhi in view of the farmers' gathering.

Farmers in large numbers gathered at the Ramlila Ground in Delhi on Thursday to take part in a "Kisan Mazdoor Mahapanchayat" that has been convened to protest against the BJP-led Centre's policies regarding the farming sector.
The Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM), an umbrella body of farmer organisations that spearheaded a protest at Delhi's borders in 2020-21 against three agriculture laws that have since been repealed, has said a resolution will be passed at the "Kisan Mazdoor Mahapanchayat" to "intensify the fight" against the Centre's policies.
The farmers raised slogans against the Centre at the protest venue.
Police have issued a traffic advisory for commuters to avoid the roads leading to central Delhi in view of the farmers' gathering. The number of paramilitary personnel deployed at Delhi's borders has also been increased as the farmers have been asked not to come to the capital with their tractor-trolleys, officials said.
The Delhi Police has given permission to the farmers to hold the event on the conditions that there would not be a gathering of more than 5,000 people, no tractor-trolleys and no march to the Ramlila Maidan.

&nbsp;Bengaluru Metro on Monday sacked a security supervisor for allegedly barring a farmer from using its train services for being "inappropriately dressed." A commuter had posted a video of the February 18 incident at Rajajinagar Metro station on 'X'.
"Unbelievable....Is metro only for VIPs? Is there a dress code to use metro? I appreciate actions of Karthik C Airani, who fought for the right of a farmer at Rajajinagar metro station. We need more such heroes everywhere," he said. The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) said: "Namma (Bengaluru) metro is an inclusive public transport. This Rajajinagar incident is probed and the services of the security supervisor is terminated. BMRCL regrets the inconvenience caused to the passenger." The video was later shared by many on different social media platforms criticising the BMRCL for the act of its security staff.
In the video posted by the commuter on February 24, the security supervisor was seen barring the farmer from using the metro services for not being "appropriately dressed." A commuter who was standing in line for a security check next to the farmer immediately intervened and questioned the security staff as to on what basis he was not allowing him to use the services.
He fought on behalf of the farmer for his right as a citizen with a valid ticket to use the metro and also said he did not have any items in his sack that are prohibited from bringing into the metro. He also asked the security staff to show him a rule which mandates a dress code for commuters of the metro and further questioned if this mode of transport was only restricted to VIPs.
After the argument, the commuter told the farmer to tag along with him and ensured he travelled in the metro.&nbsp;

The farmers are protesting for the demand of a law guaranteeing a Minimum Support Price (MSP) for their produce. They also want to strengthen the MGNREGS, reinstate the old pension scheme, and ensure pension and social security for all workers in both formal and informal sectors.
Other than this, the farmers have also demanded 300 units of free power for farming for domestic use and shops, comprehensive crop insurance, and a hike in pensions to ₹10,000 per month among others.
The Samyukta Kisan Morcha has also written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi about their demands of &nbsp;MSP for crops based on the Swaminathan formula of C2 50 (input cost of capital 50 per cent), legal guarantee of procurement, debt waiver, no hike in electricity tariff and no smart metres.

The Gautam Buddh Nagar Police on Thursday said restrictions under CrPC Section 144, including a ban on unauthorised public assemblies, would be enforced across the district in view of Bharat Bandh called by farmers' unions on Friday.
The police also cautioned commuters going to Delhi and coming back from the capital city of traffic diversions in Noida and urged citizens to opt for metro rail service "as far as possible" to avoid inconvenience.
The decisions have been taken in view of the proposed protest marches called by the farmers' body Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM) and other unions, the police said.
The Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU), part of SKM, had earlier called for a Bharat Bandh on February 16, citing a host of unmet demands of farmers. The Noida-based Bharatiya Kisan Parishad (BKP) has also extended support to Friday's Bharat Bandh.
"Various programmes like protest demonstrations are proposed by SKM and various organisations for Friday. Hence, Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) is implemented on February 16," the police said in a statement.
According to the order, unlawful assembly of five or more people, unauthorised processions or demonstrations, including political or religious, are prohibited.
The order also bars the use of private drones in a radius of one km of government establishments and also bans people from carrying sticks, rods, tridents, swords, firearms and the likes in public places.
In a traffic advisory, the police said intensive checking will be done by installing barriers on all the borders of Noida and Delhi by the police on both sides due to which there will be a pressure on vehicular movement and traffic would be diverted according to requirement.
"People going to Delhi please use Metro as much as possible to avoid traffic inconvenience. Arrival of all types of goods vehicles will be restricted on the route from Yamuna Expressway to Delhi via Noida-Greater Noida Expressway and from Sirsa to Surajpur via Pari Chowk. To avoid traffic inconvenience, drivers can use alternative routes to reach their destination," the police said.
BKU leader Pawan Khatana said during the Bharat Bandh called by his union, farmers have been asked to strike their work for one day in order to press the government for demands.
"Farmers have been asked to shun work in farms or not go to markets for any purchases tomorrow. Traders and transporters have also been exhorted to join the strike tomorrow," Khatana told PTI.
The farmers' leader said the protesters would stay put in their areas and not march towards Delhi.
Meanwhile, a section of traders here has urged the protesting farmers and the government to have a dialogue to quickly resolve the issue.
"Frequent farmer movements adversely affect everyday business activities. Citizens have to face unnecessary troubles. Everyone is suffering losses due to the closure of transport routes," Sushil Kumar Jain, president of Noida's Sector 18 Market Association, said.
"We appeal to the government and the farmers to resolve the issues through dialogues and not by obstructing the lives of common citizens," Jain added.
The BKP, which has been protesting against the local authorities functioning under the state government, said it has extended support to the Bharat Bandh.
"All farmers will gather outside the NTPC office in Sector 24 here tomorrow to take forward this initiative," the BKP said in a statement.&nbsp;

Farmer leader Sarwan Singh Pandher on Tuesday decried the heavy barricading along the borders of Punjab and Haryana in view of the 'Delhi Chalo' march, saying the state borders have been turned into "international borders".
He also accused the Manohar Lal Khattar government of harassing farmers in Haryana.
"It does not seem Punjab and Haryana are two states. It seems they have become the international border," Pandher told reporters in Fatehgarh Sahib district ahead of the farmers' march to Delhi.
The farmers are demanding a legal guarantee for MSP, implementation of the Swaminathan Commission's recommendations, pensions for farmers and farm labourers, farm debt waiver, withdrawal of police cases and "justice" for victims of the Lakhimpur Kheri violence, reinstatement of the Land Acquisition Act, 2013.
Pandher said while the media has blamed the farmers for blocking roads, the government itself has blocked roads.
"Even today we are not saying that we will block roads. The government itself has blocked roads for the past two-three days," Pandher, who is the general secretary of the Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee, said.
Concrete walls have been erected at the Punjab and Haryana borders, he said.
"We grow foodgrains and we feed the country and they have grown a crop of nails" for us," Pandher said while referring to the elaborate arrangements made by the Haryana authorities to prevent farmers from moving towards the national capital.
He alleged that many farmers allowing allegiance to them have been detained in Madhya Pradesh.
Lashing out at the Haryana government, Pandher said Haryana has been turned into "Kashmir valley." He alleged that the state government has sent policemen to every village to harass farmers and deployed water cannons.
Referring to the meeting with the Union Ministers, Pandher said as the meeting remained inconclusive, they decided to head towards Delhi.
He said farmers rejected the ministers' offers of formation of a committee over their demands, especially legal guarantee to the minimum support price.
Union Agriculture Minister Arjun Munda along with Food and Consumer Affairs Minister Piyush Goyal held a meeting with representatives of farmers on Monday. However, the meeting on the demands put forward by farmers remained inconclusive.
Farmers under the banner of the Samyukta Kisan Morcha (Non-Political) and the Kisan Mazdoor Morcha plan to head to Delhi from the Ambala-Shambhu, Khanauri-Jind and the Dabwali borders.&nbsp;

A Maharashtra farmer Dilip Rathod from Shivani village in Ghatanji tehsil of Yavatmal received ₹52.99 as an insurance payout for the crop loss that he suffered due to unseasonal rains. As the farmer received this amount, he wrote a sarcastic letter to the Yavatmal superintendent of police in which he mentioned that he needs police protection.&nbsp;
He mentioned in his letter that he requires at least six personnel to ensure he could safely take the huge amount home. The farmer's letter was shared with the media by NCP MLA from Katol Anil Deshmukh outside the Vidhan Sabha on Monday.&nbsp;
Rathod also mentioned in his letter that with the huge amount he received as payout for crop loss, he would be able to repay the farm loan and spend some money on the treatment of his ailing wife.
It was also mentioned that with this princely amount, he would like to go tour Guwahati. The letter reads, "The ₹52.99 payout is a huge amount for a poor farmer like me and now I am worried about taking it home. I have brought my iron safe on a bullock cart to the collector&rsquo;s office to take the payout home. But I am apprehensive as many people are possibly eyeing the amount."
