An 18-year-old cricket enthusiast, Rituparno Pakhira, found himself in a brief stint behind bars and banned from entering Eden Gardens for the current Indian Premier League (IPL) season.
His crime? Breaching security to meet his idol, Virat Kohli, up close. Pakhira's bold move came during Saturday&rsquo;s IPL 2025 opener between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).
Despite the consequences, Pakhira remains unremorseful. He cherishes the moment he got to touch Kohli&rsquo;s feet and even received a hug from the cricketing legend. During the disruption, Kohli, renowned for his calm demeanor on the field, handled the situation with grace. According to Pakhira, Kohli inquired about his name, advised him to run away quickly, and instructed security personnel to escort him out gently, ensuring he was unharmed. This interaction was reported by the Times of India.
Pakhira revealed he had meticulously planned his daring act, determined to meet the man he reveres. "I had planned to enter the ground at any cost and prepared myself. I am very happy that I was successful and that I could touch my god," he shared, standing by his bold actions as one of the most memorable experiences of his life.
The incident unfolded shortly after Kohli reached his half-century, with the euphoric fan leaping over the guardrails, racing towards him, and grabbing his legs, much to the surprise of the crowd and players alike.
Meanwhile, in another conversation reflecting on the bond between cricket icons, former India captain MS Dhoni spoke about his relationship with Kohli. Despite stepping down as India's Test captain, Dhoni reflected on their continued friendship and respect for one another. Dhoni explained their past discussions on strategic plays and their shared growth through those interactions.&nbsp;
"We had honest exchanges about situations," said Dhoni, while speaking on Jio Hostar. "Initially, it was a relationship between a captain and a young player, but over time, we became friends. Even today, we share that bond, though there's always a line of respect between a senior and a junior. Now that neither of us is captain, we get more time to talk before matches."

There have been regular protests since last year against a plan to sell a stake in marketing revenues to a private equity investor for an up-front payment. As the league comes closer to an agreement, fans have become more disruptive.
A second-division game between Hamburger SV and Hannover on Friday was repeatedly interrupted.
German news agency dpa reported people from a section of the stadium occupied by Hamburg supporters attached the thick metal bicycle locks to the goal at halftime, and objects were thrown onto the field. Staff used a power saw to cut the locks off the goalpost.
After that, the referee took the players off the field when Hannover supporters displayed banners protesting against CVC and Blackstone, the two prospective buyers in the league's investment deal.
Other banners showed Hannover chief executive Martin Kind's face in crosshairs.
Hannover players approached the stand to speak with the fans and a warning was made that the game would be abandoned if the disruption continued.
The game eventually resumed and finished 4-3 to Hannover, more than 2 hours and 40 minutes after it began.
Kind, a businessman who has long been involved with Hannover, is a controversial figure in German soccer over his role in the December vote to proceed with the investment talks.
The proposal passed with approval from 24 of the 36 clubs in the top two men's divisions, the exact two-thirds majority needed.
Kind has refused to say how he voted. The members' club of Hannover has said it asked him to vote against.
Also Friday, Borussia Dortmund's top-division game against Freiburg was interrupted for about 10 minutes in the first half by Dortmund fans throwing tennis balls and foil-wrapped chocolate coins onto the field.
A game last Saturday between Hertha Berlin and Hamburg was delayed by about half an hour, and another last Wednesday between Mainz and Union Berlin had extensive stoppages.

In the video, which has garnered over 2 million views, the fans can be seen revelling in an impromptu Ronaldo's rendition of the celebration. The famous footballer has a unique way of celebrating goals. The player jumps high and does a mid-air pirouette and shouts "siu! meaning 'Yes' in Spanish.

Indian cricketer Virat Kohli has always been expressive whether it's on the ground or outside. In a warm-up match between Rohit Sharma-led Indians and Sam Evans-led Leicestershire, Kohli was seen confronting the crowd after a few spectators misbehaved with Indian youngster Kamlesh Nagarkoti.
In a now viral video, former India captain can be seen schooling a fan after seeing the way the fan was acting. A fan was continuously asking Nagarkoti for pictures. 
Indian pacer Nagarkoti is part of India's net bowlers for the tour and was playing as a substitute fielder during the match between Indians and Leicestershire.
The fan can also be heard saying that he took a leave from his job to watch the match and he deserved a photo with Nagarkoti.
Kohli defended his teammate and responded by saying that Nagarkoti is there to play the match, and not to click photos.
India will play their 5th rescheduled Test against England at the Edgbaston, Birmingham from Friday, July 1.

Indian cricketer Virat Kohli has always been expressive whether it's on the field or off it.
In the warm-up match against Leicestershire, the former Indian captain schooled a fan who was constantly bothering Indian youngster Kamlesh Nagarkoti for a photo.
In a video that's gone viral, Kohli has been captured having a heated exchange with a fan from the balcony of his dressing room. While part of the conversation is unclear, Kohli was visibly unhappy with the constant heckling aimed at the young Indian pacer.
While Nagarkoti is not part of the Indian squad, he's part of the travelling group as a net bowler. He was playing as a substitute during the third day of India's practice game and was fielding near the boundary rope when the incident took place.
In the clip, the fan can be heard saying that he took a leave from his job to watch the match and he deserved a photo with Nagarkoti.
Miffed with the spectator, Kohli told him that Nagarkoti was there to play the match, and not to click photos.
India play England in the rescheduled final Test at Edgbaston from July 1.
