Maruti Suzuki September 2020 Sales 

Maruti Suzuki India has reported a 30.8 per cent year-on-year growth in sales for September 2020. The automaker&rsquo;s total sales for the month stood at 160,442 units last month, as compared to 122,640 vehicles that were sold in September 2019. The sales figures do look encouraging for India&rsquo;s largest carmaker as the nation recovers from the pandemic, but the auto industry was already undergoing a major slowdown during September last year, which has prompted strong growth figure. Entry-level models like the Alto and S-Presso* saw a nearly 36 per cent hike in sales, while sales for compact models like the Wagon R, Swift and Dzire* grew by 47 per cent. The UV segment with the Vitara Brezza, XL6 and the Ertiga* witnessed an increase of 10.1 per cent. The Maruti Suzuki Ciaz* was the only model to witness a decline in sales by 10 per cent. With respect to month-on-month growth, Maruti Suzuki registered a 28 per cent hike in sales with 124,624 units sold in August 2020.
