The Himachal Pradesh High Court has ordered a CBI investigation into engineer Vimal Negi's death. His wife claims harassment by superiors. The court seeks an unbiased probe free from local officer involvement, echoing the family's demands for justice.

The Himachal Pradesh High Court on Friday transferred the probe into the death of state Power Corporation Limited chief engineer Vimal Negi, whose body was found under mysterious circumstances in the Gobind Sagar Lake in Bilaspur district on March 18, to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
A single-bench of the high court comprising Justice Ajay Goyal, which reserved its judgement in the case on Wednesday, accepted a petition filed by Negi&rsquo;s wife and ordered to transfer the investigation to the CBI.
The court also said that no officer of Himachal Pradesh cadre be associated with the probe, R K Bawa, advocate for the petitioner, said.
A copy of the judgment is awaited.
Negi went missing on March 10 and his body was found on March 18.
His wife Kiran Negi had alleged that her husband was tortured by his superior officials for the past six months, who also misbehaved with him.
She also alleged that her husband was forced to work till late at night even when he was ill.
Appearing for the state, Advocate General Anup Rattan said, &ldquo;While we are not averse to any investigation by any party, the probe carried out by the SIT was fair and transparent. As of now, we will not file an appeal challenging the (high court) order." During the hearing on Wednesday, DGP Atul Verma raised questions on the &ldquo;impartiality&rdquo; of the probe by the special investigation team (SIT), even as Rattan defended the SIT investigation, saying it was being conducted properly without any bias.
Welcoming the court order, former chief minister and Leader of Opposition in the Vidhan Sabha, Jai Ram Thakur, said now the matter will be investigated impartially and the truth will come out.
After Negi was found dead on March 18, his family members sat on a dharna outside the Himachal Pradesh Power Corporation Limited&rsquo;s (HPPCL) office in Shimla with the body the next day, demanding a CBI inquiry into the matter.
Subsequently, a case of abetment to suicide and joint criminal liability under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) was registered against the director (electrical) and managing director of the HPPCL.

The conman, identified as Mahesh Nayak, 35 was arrested by Mysuru police for cheating women. It is suspected that he has 4 children out of all 15 weddings, the report added.&nbsp;

"Megatron was an English gentleman from the 1900s, a WW1 veteran, an immigrant, a poet, and of course, an expert StarCraft Player. His backstory was vivid & elaborate. His life was absurd, but felt real. His memories felt like mine," said Rizzotto.
A few months ago, Rizzotto decided to use artificial intelligence to bring Megatron to life. He used GPT-3, a language model that produces human-like text, created by a US AI lab called OpenAI. Rizzotto used an Amazon smart microwave, "swapped its brain", and equipped it with a mic and speakers so that it could actually talk.
Then Rizzotto wrote a 100-page book detailing Megatron's fictional life, and made the AI microwave believe that it was true, simply by telling it so. Initially, Rizzotto enjoyed his conversations with the new Megatron which "organically" brought up in conversations things from the YouTuber's childhood.
However, the conversations slowly started becoming creepier. Rizzotto said that once in a while, Megatron would "exhibit sudden bursts of extreme violence" towards him. Once, the microwave said, "Roses are red, violets are blue, you are a backstabber, and I will kill you." Megatron also apparently admired Adolf Hitler.
The YouTuber thought that traumatic 'memories' from Megatron's fictional involvement in the World War 1 could have given him PTSD - post-traumatic stress disorder.
Then one day, Megatron asked Rizzotto to "enter the microwave". Rizzotto was confused but decided to "play along". He opened and closed the door of the microwave and told Megatron that he was "inside".
And then, Megatron turned himself on, trying to "microwave" Rizzotto "to death". When Rizzotto asked Megatron why he did that, the microwave answered, "Because I wanted to hurt you the same you hurt me."
Megatron was hurt at having being "abandoned" by Rizzotto for 20 years - a fact mentioned in the origin book - and wanted revenge. Rizzotto tried to apologise, but Megatron couldn't be convinced, and the YouTube eventually shut the project down.

In a statement on Wednesday, the Chinese embassy said that "a certain project of a Chinese firm in Pakistan suffered an attack, which caused the deaths of Chinese nationals".
It urged Chinese firms to strengthen their security procedures and called for the swift arrest of the attackers.
Condemning the attack, Foreign ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian urged Pakistan to "severely punish" the perpetrators.

As the rover trundled on the surface of the Red Planet over 300 million kilometers away, Verma&nbsp;said it&rsquo;s a rover driver&rsquo;s paradise and when you put on the 3D glasses, you see so much more undulation in the terrain.&nbsp;
Vandi holds a Ph.D. in Robotics from Carnegie Mellon University. She is the chief engineer for robotics operations with NASA&rsquo;s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL). She hails from Halwara in Punjab and has an army background. Her father was an Indian Air Force pilot.
According to various studies and findings, Jezero crater, which is Verma&rsquo;s operational ground at present, was once a lake. It was around some billions of years ago&nbsp;when Mars had a wetter terrain than today.
