Congress starts process to find new party president

The Congress has started the process for organisational elections with the central election authority meeting on Tuesday. The Madhusudan Mistry-led panel has finalised the initial programme of the process. Reports, quoting party sources, said that if everything goes as per schedule, Congress will have a newly-elected president by early 2021. This comes after a letter was written by 23 leaders in the party to Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi in August demanding organisational elections from top to the bottom and visible leadership on the ground.

Describing his city as a real-life Wakanda,&nbsp;Akon, who first announced his idea of the city in 2018, said he hopes 'Akon&nbsp;City' project would provide much-needed jobs to the people of Senegal&nbsp;and the city would also serve as a 'home back home' for Black Americans and others facing racial injustices.
Construction of 'Akon&nbsp;City' is reported to begin in early 2021.
