In a crucial ruling on the scope and limitations of protest in the context of the Shaheen Bagh dharna, the Supreme Court on Wednesday ruled that public places cannot be occupied indefinitely for protests. Calling occupation of a public place "unacceptable", the top court said that it is the responsibility of the administration to keep any area clear of encroachments and obstructions. The court left it to the administration to decide on the manner of action. The court order came on a batch of petitions against the Shaheen Bagh protests earlier this year. Women had sat on a key Delhi road for over three months to protest against CAA-NRC.

The Supreme Court is set to deliver its verdict today on a batch of petitions against the anti-CAA-NRC protests at Delhi's Shaheen Bagh earlier this year. The focus will be on balancing individuals' right to protest against inconvenience caused to other people. The top court will decide if there can be "an indefinite period of protests in a common area (that) creates inconvenience for others", or if there need to be limitations on the length and intensity of the protest. The court has already noted that there cannot be a "universal policy" since circumstances may "vary" from case-to-case.

Debenhams, that runs franchise stores selling clothing, beauty products, furniture and more, filed for administration in April 2020 and is currently owned by a consortium of lenders.&nbsp;

A group of transgender people has opened a restaurant in Coimbatore called Covai Trans Kitchen after their incomes were hit by the pandemic. Before Covid, the group would earn a livelihood by cooking biryani at weddings.&nbsp;Covai trans kitchen run by a team of 10 people now offers their signature biryani, pastries, Chinese and north Indian cuisines .
They received training earlier this year by Bishop Appasamy College&rsquo;s hotel management department. Depending on the response they plan to open more outlets in the city.
