No place for arrogance: Sonia's Dussehra wish with swipe at Modi govt

New Delhi, Oct 25 (PTI) Vijaya Dashami's biggest message is that people are paramount in governance and there is no place for arrogance, falsehood and breaking of promises in a ruler's life, Congress president Sonia Gandhi said on Sunday while greeting people on Dussehra.
Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi also greeted people on the occasion, saying truth ultimately triumphs.
In her message on Dussehra, Sonia Gandhi extended good wishes to all.
A symbol of victory of justice over injustice, truth over falsehood and prudence over arrogance, Dussehra, after nine days of worship, also brings with it a new resolve and a vow to fulfil duties in any situation, she said.
"Public is paramount in governance and there is no place for arrogance, falsehood and breaking of promises in a ruler's life. This is the biggest message of Vijaya Dashami," Sonia Gandhi said.
The Congress president hoped that this Dussehra will not only bring happiness, peace and prosperity in everyone's life but also strengthen harmony and cultural values ??among people.
She also appealed to people on this occasion to protect themselves from the coronavirus during festivals and to follow all COVID-19 guidelines.
Several senior Congress leaders, including general secretary organization K C Venugopal, chief party spokesperson Randeep Surjewala and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, extended greetings to people on Dussehra.&nbsp;

He also talked about strengthening&nbsp;India's national integrity and asked people to visit a government-run website on the initiative- ekbharat.gov.in. The PM called for donations for this initiative and stated it our duty to ensure unity and integration.

Covid-19: only 19% Indians willing to travel this festive season

The Covid-19 pandemic has spelt a major blow for the travel industry. A new survey reveals that only&nbsp;19% Indians are willing to travel this festive season.

With a surge in Covid-19 cases, the upcoming festive season of October and November may not be the same for Indians anymore.
According to a survey of 25,000 people in 239 districts, conducted by social media platform LocalCircles, majority of Indians or 69% may avoid travelling in the festive months and would prefer to stay home.&nbsp;
Only 19% said they would be willing to travel between October to December, out of which majority would book closer to the date depending on the situation.
October-November usually sees&nbsp;people making elaborate travel plans on the occasion&nbsp;of&nbsp;Diwali, Dussehra, Durga Puja and Chhath festivals.
