In a bid to spread awareness about the novel coronavirus, idols of Goddess Durga, Saraswati, Laxmi and Lord Karthik have been decorated with silver face masks at a pandal in Birbhum district of West Bengal.
The Jyoti Subhash Ghosti committee has been organising Durga Puja for the past 33 years and decided to come up with a unique theme this year.

After the migrant mother avatar of goddess Durga went viral in Kolkata, yet another artist's rendition of the goddess is now making a splash online. This time, Durga has been depicted as a doctor fighting coronavirus, while Lakshmi, Saraswati, Kartik and Ganesh are depicted as essential workers. Instead of her customary trident, Durga has a vaccine in hand which she uses to kill Mahishashur, who is depicted as the coronavirus. Images of the pandal were shared on social media and instantly went viral.
