Ten days after the shocking November 26 incident on a New York-Delhi Air India flight, another episode of a "drunk" male passenger allegedly "urinating" on a blanket of a female passenger was reported on the Paris-Delhi sector but penal action was not pressed after the passenger gave a written apology, officials said on Thursday.
This incident happened on December 6 on Air India flight 142 and the pilot of the aircraft reported the matter to the Air Traffic Control at the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport about it, following which the male passenger was apprehended.
It was not known which class the passengers were travelling.
The male passenger was apprehended by the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) as soon as he deboarded the plane but was later allowed to leave after the two passengers had a "mutual compromise" and the accused tendered a "written apology", they said.
The lady passenger, who had initially made a written complaint, refused to file a police case and hence the passenger was allowed to go by the airport security after he cleared immigration and customs formalities, they said.

Air India has put a 30-day travel ban on the passenger who allegedly urinated on an elderly woman travelling in business class and exposed his private parts to her on a flight from New York to Delhi in November 2022.

Air India has banned the man who allegedly urinated on an elderly woman during a flight for 30 days. The man was reportedly drunk and also exposed his private parts to her on a flight from New York to Delhi in November 2022. The airlines, in an official statement, said that they have taken very serious note of the incident that has caused extreme distress to the woman.
"Air India has taken a very serious note of the incident, where a passenger behaved in an unacceptable and undignified manner on the New York-Delhi flight that caused extreme distress to a fellow passenger.
A police complaint has already been lodged in this case and Air India is committed to assisting the law enforcement agencies as well as regulatory authorities to ensure that justice is delivered to the aggrieved passenger," the Air India spokesperson said adding that they have reported the matter to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) for further action.

"We have also constituted an internal committee to probe lapses on the part of Air India's crew and address the deficiencies that delayed quick redressal of the situation. We are also in regular contact with the aggrieved passenger and her family during the investigation and reporting process," he added.
Meanwhile, the Delhi Police has also registered the FIR under sections 354, 509, 510 of the Indian Penal Code and 23 of the Indian Aircraft Act, against the man, who, in an inebriated state onboard an Air India US flight urinated on a woman co-passenger, a senior citizen, seated in the business class seat.
