At the ongoing 76th edition of Cannes Film Festival, it was announced that Kumar Mangat Pathak&rsquo;s Panaroma Studios is teaming up with South Korea&rsquo;s Anthology Studios to remake 'Drishyam' in Korean.

Mohanlal starrer 'Drishyam' was so intriguing that it has been remade in several languages including Hindi. Now, at the ongoing 76th edition of the Cannes Film Festival, it was announced that the film will be remade in Korean.
'Cobweb' director Kim Jee-woon and 'Parasite' actor Song Kang-ho are going to be a part of the remake.
Kumar Mangat Pathak&rsquo;s Panaroma Studios, which made the Hindi remake of the film, is collaborating with South Korea&rsquo;s Anthology Studios for the project. This will mark the first collaboration between an Indian and a Korean studio as they will jointly produce the forthcoming movie.
The production for the first installment is expected to start next year, according to a Deadline report.
'<a href="https://www.editorji.com/entertainment-news/bollywood/drishyam-2-after-so-many-years-a-film-has-delivered-housefull-shows-says-manoj-desai-1669114243444">Drishyam</a>' will become the first Indian film to be officially remade in Korean.
Speaking with Deadline, Kumar Mangat Pathak spoke about the collaboration and said, &lsquo;I&rsquo;m excited that the Drishyam franchise is being made in Korean, a first for a Hindi film. This will not only increase its reach outside India but will also put Hindi cinema on the global map. All these years, we have been inspired by Korean fare, now they have found a muse in one of our films.&rsquo;
Former Warner Bros executive Jay Choi, who co-founded Anthology Studios, said, &lsquo;We are thrilled to have an opportunity to remake a massively successful Hindi film with a touch of originality from Korean cinema. And the remake has greater significance as the first major co-production between Korea and India. Through our partnership, we will be able to bring the best of both Indian and Korean cinema and make a meaningful remake that is as excellent as the original.&rsquo;

South Indian superstar Mohanlal’s highly-anticipated Malayalam thriller ‘Drishyam’ will get its third installment. The film's producer Antony Perumbavoor officially confirmed the news at a recent award function. As soon as the announcement was made, a wave of excitement could be seen among fans. The installment will be the final with the climax of the series. Antony`s clip from the award night is going viral on the internet. 
Trade expert Manobala Vijayabalan also tweeted and confirmed the news. He tweeted, "#Drishyam3 CONFIRMED by Producer Antony Perumbavoor in the Mazhavil Entertainment Awards. #Mohanlal."   
'Drishyam' was remade in Hindi in 2015 with the same title. It starred Ajay Devgn, Tabu, and Shriya Saran in the lead role. The official Hindi remake of 'Drishyam 2' is currently under making and the film is all set to hit the theatres on November 18, 2022.
