Sikkim mandates its personnel department employees to wear traditional attire weekly, promoting cultural identity and pride.

The Sikkim government's personnel department has issued an order directing the employees of the department to wear traditional dress once a week, an official said on Thursday.
The move is aimed at promoting indigenous identity and reflecting the vibrant heritage of the state within the administrative framework, the official said.
"With a view to preserve and promote our cultural heritage and showcase our vibrant diversity, all officers and officials of the Department of Personnel are hereby directed to wear their full traditional attire once a week every Thursday," said the order issued by the Department of Personnel Secretary Rinzing Chewang Bhutia on April 29.

TCS Dress Code: Indian IT major TCS has called all of its employees to Work From Office. In an email, the company has asked the staff to be mindful of the dress code when returning to office.
Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) Milind Kakkad in his email reminded the employees of the importance of adhering to proper dress code.&nbsp;
&ldquo;This is key to creating the right impact with stakeholders globally. The dress code policy gives clear guidance on the right attire while carrying out official responsibilities and duties", the email read.

According to the company, Associates are expected to wear business casuals: tucked-in full-sleeved shirts with trousers for men and business dresses for women. This is the costume from Monday to Thursday.

Business formals are a norm for formal events like seminars and summits as well as for client visits. The company allows smart casuals, which include half-sleeved shirts, turtleneck, khakis, chinos, and kurti and salwar (women) etc., only on Fridays.
<h3>TCS Employee Integration</h3>
The CHRO in his email mentioned that the best way to integrate the new employees who had joined in the past 2 years and have been working either remotely or in hybrid mode is by working from office.
&ldquo;A large number of our associates have joined us in the last two years and have been working in a virtual or hybrid mode, and it is our responsibility to ensure they are well integrated &ndash; working from the office is key to internalise the TCS values and the TCS way,&rdquo; the email by the CHRO read.
Last week, TCS announced that 70% of its workforce has already returned to the office premises, marking a significant shift from the remote and hybrid work setups that were prevalent over the past few years.
