Greenpeace: water from Fukushima reactor could damage DNA if released

A Greenpeace investigation has said that contaminated water from the destroyed Fukushima nuclear power plant in Japan, contains a radioactive substance that has the potential to damage human DNA.
Environmental groups claim that 1.23 million tons of water stored in more than a thousand tanks in the plant contain dangerous levels of a radioactive isotope carbon-14, in addition to quantities of tritium that have already been widely reported.
The report comes as&nbsp;Japanese media reports say that the government was planning to give its approval to&nbsp;release the water&nbsp;into the Pacific ocean.
