Rajgarh constituency in Madhya Pradesh is a hot seat in phase 3 of Lok Sabha polls. From Rajgarh, Congress has fielded senior leader and former CM Digvijaya Singh. He has been pitted against two-time Rajgarh MP Rodmal Nagar of BJP.&nbsp;
The veteran leader is using the 'last election' appeal for the Lok Sabha 2024 polls. Digvijaya Singh is a member of the Parliament in the Rajya Sabha. He has served as the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh for two terms from 1993 to 2003.&nbsp;
Singh earned a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Shri Govindram Seksaria Institute of Technology and Science (SGSITS), Indore.&nbsp;
Singh's opponent Nagar won the 2014 and 2019 LS polls from the Rajgarh seat. He is an RSS member and in the 2019 polls, he won this seat with a margin of over 4 lakh votes by defeating Mona Sustani of the Indian National Congress.

The Congress had earlier distanced itself from Digvijaya Singh's 'surgical strike proof' remarks saying that it did not reflect the party's position.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Tuesday claimed &ldquo;the DNA of Congress is pro-Pakistan,&rdquo; a day after Congress leader Digvijaya Singh questioned the surgical strikes and accused the Centre of peddling lies.
Further targeting the Congress, Chouhan said they are committing the "sin" of lowering the morale of the armed forces.
Talking to reporters here on Tuesday, Chouhan said, &ldquo;The DNA of Congress is Pakistan-parast (pro-Pakistan). Sometimes they ask for a proof of surgical strike. At times they ask for proof of Lord Ram's existence, the evidence of Ram Setu." Chouhan said Digvijaya Singh while walking along with Congress leader Rahul Gandhi asked for a proof of surgical strike.
&ldquo;They are committing the sin of lowering the morale of the armed forces. This shows they are standing with Pakistan,&rdquo; the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader said.
Seeking a reply from Rahul Gandhi on Digvijaya Singh's remarks, Chouhan said, &ldquo;What kind of Bharat Jodo Yatra is this? The Tukde-Tukde gang is marching with you. The morale of the armed forces is being lowered. Rahul Gandhi is also raising questions on the armed forces. This is not patriotism.&rdquo;
Chouhan claimed Madhya Pradesh was the "stronghold" of the banned outfit Student Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) when Digvijaya Singh was the state's chief minister.
Addressing a public meeting during the Bharat Jodo Yatra in Jammu and Kashmir on Monday, former Madhya Pradesh CM Digvijaya Singh questioned the surgical strikes.
The Rajya Sabha member also alleged that the Centre did not agree to the Central Reserve Police Force's (CRPF) request of flying its personnel from Srinagar to Delhi and 40 soldiers sacrificed their lives in Pulwama in 2019 in a terror attack.
As his comments stoked a major political row, the Congress distanced itself from them, saying they are "his own" and do not reflect the party's position.

Amid an ongoing row over Congress leader Digvijaya Singh questioning the authenticity of the 2019 surgical strikes, agitated party leader Jairam Ramesh lashed out at the media on Tuesday, saying all that needed to be said have already been done, and the questions should now be directed at the Prime Minister.
A day after Mr Singh triggered a controversy and the Congress distanced itself from his remarks, Mr Ramesh told the media during the Bharat Jodo Yatra in Jammu and Kashmir that all queries related to the surgical strike uproar have been answered by his party and the media needs to aim its questions at Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Mr Singh, trying to put an end to the row, also said, "I have got the greatest regard for the Defence forces", as the leaders marched on along with other padayatris.

Veteran congress leader Digvijay Singh put all the speculations to rest over filing his nomination for the post of the Congress president. 
Speaking to the media on Friday, Singh said that decided to opt out of the race after meeting Mallikarjun Kharge this morning. Digvijay said, “I have worked for Congress all my life till now, and will continue doing so. I don't compromise on 3 things - standing for the Dalit, tribals & poor, fighting against those who disturb communal harmony & my commitment to Congress & Nehru-Gandhi family”. 
Further, Singh said that he had met Kharge last night over the nomination, but Kharge was not sure of filling the papers, hence I proceeded. Although, when I got to know about him filing nomination via media, he met Kharge again today morning. 
After Kharge made up his mind to join the race, Singh decided to opt out of the race. 
Mallikarjun Kharge, seen as a loyalist to Gandhis was recently sent as an observer along with Ajay Maken to Rajasthan amid the state’s political crisis after CM Ashok Gehlot declared to join the race for the party's presidential poll.

Faruqui was last month denied nod to hold a show at Bengaluru in Karnataka amid the protest by the Hindu right wing outfits. A few days later, Kamra, a vocal critic of the government, said his stand-up shows scheduled to be held in Bengaluru were cancelled after the organisers received threats.
On Monday, Digvijaya Singh in a Twitter post said, "I will organise a show for you Kunal and Munawar in Bhopal. All responsibility will be mine. Only condition is that the subject of comedy will be Digvijaya Singh. Sanghis (RSS cadre) should not object to this!! Don't be afraid!! Give the date and time as per your convenience. All your conditions are accepted." In his post, the Rajya Sabha member also tagged a news article related to Kamra.
Earlier this year, Faruqui had spent a month in jail at Indore in MP following a complaint by a BJP MLA's son in January for allegedly hurting religious sentiments.
