Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday said that the statehood of Jammu and Kashmir will be restored after delimitation of constituencies and assembly elections.
Shah, who is on a three-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir, said delimitation will happen, followed by elections and then there will be restoration of statehood so that the youth of Kashmir get opportunities. He further asserted that strict action will be taken against those who want to disrupt the peace and harmony in the union territory.
The minister said that "transparency and corruption-free governance"that&nbsp;Jammu-Kashmir has witnessed since 2019 is the pillar of region's development.
The government had abrogated Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir in August 2019. It had also bifurcated Jammu and Kashmir into two union territories. Shah said the government in Jammu and Kashmir has decided to form a youth club in every panchayat and Rs 25,000 will be provided to every such club.
Slamming the earlier regimes in the earstwhile state, Shah asked what did the previous government do for J&amp;K in the last 70 years

The J&amp;K Delimitation Commission said it will take into account the topography, difficult terrain, means of communication and convenience while delimiting 7 additional seats for the 83-member UT Assembly.&nbsp;

The Delimitation Commission which is visiting J&amp;K briefed the media on Friday.
The delimitation panel briefing was conducted by Justice Ranjhana Prakash Desai, Chairperson of the Delimitation Commission along with Chief Election Commissioner Sushil Chandra and State Election Commissioner KK Sharma.
The Commission said it would base its final report on the 2011 Census and also take into account the topography, difficult terrain, means of communication and convenience available while delimiting seven additional seats for the 83-member Assembly of the Union Territory (UT).
The Commission&nbsp; said it will also grant reservation to the Schedule Tribe (ST) and Schedule Caste (SC).
Justice Desai assured that the panel was hopeful of completing the process soon. In addition, she stated that they will be visiting the Union Territory again to interact with many other people.

In a series of tweets after a three and a half hour long meeting with 14 political leaders from Jammu and Kashmir, PM Modi said, even if there are political differences, everyone should work in national interest so that people of J&amp;K can benefit. The Prime Minister said, his meeting with political leaders from Jammu and Kashmir is an important step in the ongoing efforts towards a developed and progressive J&amp;K, where all-round growth is furthered. He added, the govt's priority is to strengthen grassroots democracy in J&amp;K. The PM said, delimitation has to happen at a quick pace so that polls can happen and J&amp;K gets an elected government that gives strength to J&amp;K&rsquo;s development trajectory. In his third tweet, PM Modi hailed India's democracy saying, our biggest strength is the ability to sit across a table and exchange views.
