Rainfall in Delhi on Thursday led to waterlogging and traffic delays, as temperature dropped to 23&deg;C and AQI stood at a satisfactory 63.

Rain lashed several parts of the national capital on Thursday morning, triggering waterlogging and traffic jams.
The minimum temperature in Delhi dropped to 23 degrees Celsius, 4.3 notches below the seasonal average, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.
Humidity levels were recorded at 100 per cent at 8.30 am.
The IMD has predicted generally cloudy skies with moderate rainfall through the day. The maximum temperature is expected to settle around 35.6 degrees Celsius.
Delhi's Air Quality Index (AQI) stood at 63, in the 'satisfactory' category, at 9 am, according to the Central Pollution Control Board.
An AQI between zero and 50 is considered 'good', 51 and 100 'satisfactory', 101 and 200 'moderate', 201 and 300 'poor', 301 and 400 'very poor', and 401 and 500 'severe'.

According to the Indian Meteorological Department, Delhi received 228 mm of rainfall from 8:30 am on the 27th of June to 8:30 am the 28th of June.

Inundated roads, choking traffic jams, and people wading through neck-deep water, the national capital of Delhi was left in a mess after the heavy downpour that started at 2 am on the 28th of June.&nbsp;
According to the Indian Meteorological Department, Delhi received 228 mm of rainfall from 8:30 am on the 27th of June to 8:30 am the 28th of June. This was the highest 24-hour rainfall recorded in June since 1936. At that time, Delhi recorded 235.5 mm of rain.
Though the torrential rain brought much-needed relief from the brutal heatwave, it also highlighted the glaring infrastructural shortcomings of the city. &nbsp;
Early morning visuals showed vehicles stuck on submerged roads and underpasses in the city.
At the Azad Market underpass, a passenger bus broke down, and the commuters were rescued and taken to safer places.
The situation was no different in major intersections like the Dhaula Kuan Flyover, where two to three feet of water accumulated, causing extensive traffic jams.
The Delhi Metro service operations were also affected due to heavy rains, while all departures from the airport terminal were temporarily suspended, and check-in counters were closed as a safety measure.&nbsp;

&ldquo;Due to heavy rain since early this morning, a portion of the canopy at the old Departure forecourt of Delhi Airport&rsquo;s Terminal 1 collapsed around 5 am. There are injuries reported, and emergency personnel are working to provide all necessary assistance and medical aid to those affected,&rdquo; a Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) spokesperson said in a statement.
"As a result of this incident, all departures from Terminal 1 are temporarily suspended, and check-in counters are closed as a safety measure. We sincerely regret this disruption and apologize for any inconvenience caused," the statement read. &nbsp;
The newly appointed Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu said he was "Personally monitoring the roof collapse incident at T1 Delhi Airport."
"First responders are working at site. Also advised the airlines to assist all affected passengers at T1. The injured have been evacuated to hospital. Rescue operations are still ongoing," he added.
Pictures show several cars were damaged when parts of the roof collapsed on them.
Meanwhile, Delhi Police said that traffic going to Terminal 1 departure gateshas been diverted at the CISF check post toward the arrival gates.
The incident occurred when Delhi-NCR was hit by a spell of heavy rains on Friday. Various parts of the national capital experienced intense water-logging.

Heavy rain lashed parts of the national capital on Thursday morning, bringing Delhiites much-needed respite from the heat.
The minimum temperature in Delhi was recorded at 28.6 degrees Celsius, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
Delhi has been reeling from sweltering heat. The city has recorded nine heatwave days in June so far as against none in 2023 and 2022.
On Wednesday, private weather forecasting agency Skymet Weather Services said the monsoon current could arrive in Delhi by the end of this week, bringing relief from the prevailing sultry conditions.
"The monsoon is expected to reach Delhi on June 29 or 30," Mahesh Palawat of Skymet Weather Services said.
The monsoon current typically enters Delhi between June 27 and 29.
Last year, it arrived on June 26 while the first monsoon showers of 2022 were recorded on June 30, according to official data.

An estimated ₹200 crore worth of business has been affected due to rains and flooding in parts of the national capital, traders' body said. While appealing to traders to suspend movement of goods from other cities for next few days in view of the rising water level of the Yamuna river, the Chamber of Trade and Industry said that the markets of Old Delhi, Kashmiri Gate, Mori Gate, Monestry Market, Chandni Chowk, Jama Masjid, Bhagirath Place, Lajpat Rai Market, Kinari Bazar , Fatehpuri, Khari Baoli, Naya Bazar have been affected.
&ldquo;We appeal to the traders and market associations of old Delhi to halt the movement of goods from outside in the next few days,&rdquo; Chamber of Trade and Industry (CTI) chairman Brijesh Goyal said.
Kashmiri Gate Market President Vinay Narang said that there is a possibility of a loss of more than ₹50 crore due to 3-4 days of rain, whereas CTI estimated that a business of about ₹200 crores have been affected due to rains.
"The rising water level in Yamuna is affecting Delhi markets badly. The business has almost come to a standstill. Traders are waiting for the situation to return to normal. The customers coming from nearby cities have also postponed the plan. Railways stopped the movement of trains on the old iron bridge, many train routes have been changed, while some have also been cancelled. Even more traders and buyers are not coming to Delhi,&rdquo; Goyal said.
As per CTI, Delhi receives more than 2 lakh customers from places like Rewari, Gurgaon, Ghaziabad, Faridabad, Meerut, Sonipat, Panipat, Palwal, Baghpat, Baraut, Muzaffarnagar every day.
