The Aam Aadmi Party on Saturday cited electoral bonds data published by the Election Commission to allege that a company linked with the Delhi liquor policy case had donated money to the BJP via the funding scheme.&nbsp;
Delhi minister Atishi said that soon after a director of Aurobindo Pharma was arrested in the alleged liquor policy scam, the firm bought electoral bonds which were redeemed by the BJP.&nbsp;
Aurobindo Pharma had bought electoral bonds for a total of Rs 52 crore with more than half of it going to the Bharatiya Janata Party, according to data released by the Election Commission.
The Hyderabad-based firm had purchased electoral bonds between April 3, 2021 to November 8, 2023 and Rs 34.5 crore was donated to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Rs 15 crore to the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), and Rs 2.5 crore to the Telugu Desam Party (TDP).
The drug maker purchased electoral bonds worth Rs 5 crore on November 15, 2022 five days after one of its directors, P Sarath Chandra Reddy was arrested for involvement in money laundering linked to the controversial Delhi excise policy, which has been scrapped.
Comments from the company could not be obtained.
As per the Election Commission data, BJP encashed this sum on November 21, 2022.
Last year in June, Reddy turned approver in the case after a Delhi court allowed him to do so. Before that the Enforcement Directorate alleged that he indulged in unfair market practices to gain undue advantage from the liquor policy by conspiring with business owners and politicians involved in the excise case.
Atishi claimed that during initial questioning, Reddy had said that he had neither met Arvind Kejriwal nor spoken to him. She added that after he turned approver, he said that Kejriwal was involved in the scam and it was based on the statement of Reddy that the ED acted against the Delhi chief minister.&nbsp;
On November 8, 2023 Aurobindo Pharma bought electoral bonds worth Rs 25 crore which were encashed by the BJP on November 17, 2023.
Before that on January 5, 2022, Aurobindo Pharma had bought electoral bonds worth Rs 3 crore which were encashed by the BJP on January 12, 2022.
Earlier this week, Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh had highlighted Aurobindo Pharma's case to attack the government on the now scrapped electoral bonds issue saying it was indulging in "hafta vasuli" (extortion) and claimed that 21 firms facing investigations from the CBI, ED, or IT have donated through electoral bonds.

The Aam Aadmi Party in a press conference on Saturday alleged that the BJP has received money from a company linked with the Delhi liquor policy case via electoral bonds.&nbsp;
Delhi minister Atishi said that the ED hasn't found a money trail linking AAP leaders to the alleged corruption in the Delhi liquor policy case.
She added that now they have proof of money trail between the BJP and Aurobindo Pharma.&nbsp;
The AAP leader also said the Enforcement Directorate (ED) arrested Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday merely based on the statement of one Sharad P Reddy.
Reddy, of Aurobindo Pharma, was arrested by the ED in November in connection with the excise policy case. He gave crores of rupees to the BJP through electoral bonds, she claimed.
A local court on Friday remanded Kejriwal in ED custody till March 28 "for his detailed and sustained interrogation" regarding his role in the alleged Delhi excise policy scam.
Atishi also challenged the ED to file a case against the BJP, saying the money trail of the so-called excise policy scam leads to the saffron party.
The Delhi minister alleged that the BJP received "proceeds of crime" in its bank accounts and said the central agency should arrest the saffron party's chief JP Nadda in the matter.

The Enforcement Directorate has issued a fresh summon to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and has asked him to report for questioning on December 21 in the Excise policy-linked money laundering case.&nbsp;
In November 2023,&nbsp; the agency asked the AAP chief to appear before the agency on November 2, However, Kejriwal didn't show up saying the summon issued to him was 'Vague, motivated and unsustainable in law'.
 The two big leaders of the AAP Maniosh Sisodia and Sanjay Singh have already been arrested in the same case and are currently under investigation.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal did not appear before the Enforcement Directorate in connection with the liquor policy case on November 2.&nbsp;
The probe agency had issued a summons to him on October 30 asking him to appear for questioning at 11 a.m. on November 2
Kejriwal called the ED notice 'illegal and politically motivated' and demanded the probe agency withdraw it.&nbsp;
The AAP had alleged that Kejriwal will be the first to be arrested as part of the BJP's plan to target top INDIA alliance leaders ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha polls and the ED summons were an attempt to finish the party that is in power in Delhi and Punjab.
It is alleged that the Delhi government's excise policy for 2021-22 to grant licences to liquor traders allowed cartelisation and favoured certain dealers who had allegedly paid bribes for it, a charge repeatedly refuted by the AAP.
The policy was subsequently scrapped and the Delhi lieutenant governor recommended a CBI probe, following which the ED registered a case under the PMLA.

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has been summoned by the ED in the Delhi liquor policy case

&nbsp;The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has summoned Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for questioning in an excise policy-linked money-laundering case on November 2, official sources said on Monday.
Kejriwal (55) has been issued the summons under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) and according to the sources, the agency will record his statement once he deposes before the investigating officer of the case in Delhi.
The ED has mentioned Kejriwal's name multiple times in its chargesheets filed in the case and said the accused were in touch with the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader regarding the preparation and execution of the now-scrapped Delhi Excise Policy 2021-22.
In a related development, the Supreme Court rejected two separate bail pleas of former deputy chief minister and AAP leader Manish Sisodia in corruption and money-laundering cases related to the alleged Delhi excise policy scam and said a transfer of Rs 338 crore was tentatively established in the matter.
