In a fresh terror incident against civilians in Jammu and Kashmir, a grenade attack occurred near a famous tourist spot in Srinagar. Terrorists reportedly hurled a grenade outside the Mughal garden on the bank of the Dal Lake on 21 August 2022.
At least nine civilians were injured in the attack. Seven of the victims were admitted to the SMHS hospital, and two were taken to SKIMS hospital in Srinagar. The condition of all the injured civilians was reportedly stable.
The latest attack came just days after terrorists shot two Kashmiri Pandits in Shopian district. While Sunil Kumar died in the targeted terrorist strike, his brother Pintu Kumar was injured.
Terrorists have been attacking either local civilians or migrant workers in the Union Territory in a series of attacks since late 2021.

Around 300 bundles of Nadyir roots can be harvested from one kanal of marshland. Nadur, which is the singular form of Nadyir, supports the livelihoods of many in Kashmir - from farmers, to grocers, and even hawkers selling snacks.
But growing threats like pollution, and natural calamities are threatening this age-old business-turned-tradition. One of the lesser-known impacts of the 2014 September floods was the wiping out of nadyir production in the Dal lake. It took farmers around 3 years to revive it.
In South Asian culture, lotus roots and seeds have been used for many medicinal and culinary purposes. The Greeks coined the term for lotophagus for people in other parts of the world hooked to lotus products.
Lotus products are believed to help skin glow, boost brain health, increase energy, aid digestion and help in weight management, improve cardiovascular health, and also boost immunity.

State Bank of India has opened a floating ATM on a houseboat on the lake that is a star tourist attraction in the Valley.
The ATM was inaugurated by SBI chiarman Dinesh Khara on August 16. The largest bank in the country hopes that it will be an added attraction to the "charm of Srinagar"
