The government on Thursday decided to restore with immediate effect all existing visas, except electronic, tourist and medical categories. The visas were suspended almost eight months ago following the coronavirus outbreak and subsequent imposition of a nationwide lockdown.&nbsp;The Ministry of Home Affairs also announced giving permission to all Overseas Citizen of India and Person of Indian Origin card holders and all other foreign nationals to visit India for any purpose, except on a tourist visa.

New Delhi, PTI: The government on Thursday decided to restore with immediate effect all existing visas, except electronic, tourist and medical categories. The visas were suspended almost eight months ago following the coronavirus outbreak and subsequent imposition of a nationwide lockdown.
The Ministry of Home Affairs also announced giving permission to all Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) and Person of Indian Origin (PIO) card holders and all other foreign nationals to visit India for any purpose, except on a tourist visa.
The ministry said in a statement that in view of the situation arising out of the Covid-19 pandemic, the government had taken a series of steps to curtail the inward and outward movement of international passengers since February, 2020.
The government has now decided to make a graded relaxation in visa and travel restrictions for more categories of foreign nationals and Indian nationals who wish to enter or leave India.
Under this graded relaxation, the government has decided to restore with immediate effect all existing visas, except electronic visa, tourist visa and medical visa, the statement said.
If the validity of such visas has expired, fresh visas of appropriate categories can be obtained from Indian mission or post concerned.
Foreign nationals intending to visit India for medical treatment can apply afresh for a medical visa, including for their medical attendants.
Therefore, this decision will enable foreign nationals to come to India for various purposes such as business, conferences, employment, studies, research, medical purposes etc.
The government has also decided to permit all OCI and PIO card holders and all other foreign nationals intending to visit India for any purpose, except on a tourist visa, to enter by air or water routes through authorised airports and seaport immigration check posts.

BJP chief JP Nadda said on Sunday that the Nitish Kumar government took care of the people of Bihar amid the Covid-19 pandemic, asserting that it is important that the leadership of the state is secured with him.
Addressing an election rally at the historic Gandhi Maidan in Gaya, Nadda listed the development works done by the NDA government at the Centre in the last six years in the state.
"Nitish Kumar took care of the people during the COVID-19 pandemic. Financial assistance was also provided by his government to those outside the state," he said.
"Leadership of India is secured in the hands of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and it is important that the leadership of Bihar is secured with Nitish Kumar," he added.
Nadda said that only four medical colleges were there in Bihar, but in the last six years, the state got 14 medical colleges and work is going on for 11 others.
"New dimensions of development are being written in Bihar and it is our responsibility to drive this development," he said.
Nadda is on a day-long visit to the state to strategise the BJP's poll campaign.
He arrived on a special plane in Patna where he was given a rousing welcome by party workers outside the airport.
Nadda then visited the renowned Hanuman temple in the city and offered prayers.
He also visited the JP Niwas at Kadamkuan and garlanded the statue of Jayaprakash Narayan.
The BJP chief then proceeded to Gaya for the public meeting.

This bill will replace&nbsp;the ordinance which was promulgated on June 5 this year to prohibit the initiation of insolvency proceedings arising during the six months from March 25, 2020. The Ordinance came as a response to the Covid-19 pandemic, which had created uncertainty and stress for businesses for reasons beyond their control.

Delhi: Gyms, yoga centres open today amid record Covid spike

In an order issued late on the Sunday night, the Delhi government allowed gyms and yoga centres capital to reopen after being closed for over five months due to the Covid-19 pandemic. All coronavirus protocols issued by the central government have to be strictly followed, including masks and social distancing apart from sanitizing hands. According to the order, weekly markets have also been allowed on a trial basis till September 30 under 'Unlock-4'.

New Delhi, PTI: Amid record spike in coronavirus cases in the Capital, gyms and yoga centres are set to open today. The Delhi government on Sunday allowed gyms and yoga centres capital to reopen after being closed for over five months due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
In an order issued late on the Sunday night, the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) said that gymnasiums and yoga institutes will be permitted to reopen in the city, except in the containment zones, with immediate effect.
According to the order, weekly markets have also been allowed on a trial basis till September 30 under 'Unlock-4'.
The AAP dispensation and the Lieutenant Government office have recently been at loggerheads over the reopening of gyms in the national capital. Last month, the Delhi government had sent a proposal to Lt Governor Anil Baijal in this regard, but it was turned down.
The decision about reopening gyms and yoga centres comes at a time the city has been witnessing a surge in the number of coronavirus cases.
On Sunday, the tally of coronavirus cases in Delhi rose to 2.18 lakh with 4,235 more people contracting the viral disease, while 29 fresh fatalities in the last 24 hours pushed the death toll to 4,744.
This was the fifth day in a trot that the national capital recorded a daily spike of over 4,000 fresh cases. The city recorded its biggest single-day jump of 4,321 fresh Covid-19 cases on Saturday, 4,266 on Friday, 4,308 on Thursday and 4,039 on Wednesday.

The opening comes with strict guidelines issued by the government including social distancing measures and regular sanitisation of hands.&nbsp;
Ticket counters will no longer be open and tickets must be purchased online. Wearing a mask inside the premises is mandatory.&nbsp;
There will also be a cap on the number of visitors allowed each day. This includes&nbsp;5,000 tourists everyday in the Taj&nbsp;Mahal&nbsp;and 2,500 at the Agra Fort.&nbsp;

After no match practise for 5 months, teams are in favour to host some practice games in order to get into the tournament mode&nbsp;

Teams participating in the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League have expressed interest in playing some competitive warm-up games against each other before the start of the tournament on 19th September. According&nbsp;to a report in the Times of India, teams want to play as it will help them switch to tournament mode after 5 months of no match practice due to the Covid-19 pandemic. All 7 teams apart from Chennai Super Kings have started practising in their bio-secure&nbsp;bubble in Dubai and Abu&nbsp;Dhabi. The report also says that broadcaster Star is in agreement with the team as it would like to telecast some warm-up matches before the tournament starts.&nbsp;
