CNG PNG Price Today : Mahanagar Gas has cut the prices of kitchen fuel Piped Natural Gas (PNG) and automobile fuel Compressed Natural Gas (CNG), following an increase in allocation of domestically produced natural gas from the government.
The price of PNG has been reduced by Rs 4 per standard cubic metre to Rs 48.50 per SCM, while that of CNG by Rs 6 a kilogram to Rs 80 per kg, as per an official statement.
After the rate revision, <a href="https://www.editorji.com/business-news/png-cng-prices-hiked-again-1659497575709">CNG </a>usage will help a vehicle owner save 48 per cent on fuel costs in the financial capital, Mahanagar Gas Ltd (MGL) said.
In the case of PNG users, the savings will be 18 per cent when compared with the most used alternative Liquified Petroleum Gas (<a href="https://www.editorji.com/business-news/lpg-price-cut-find-out-cooking-gas-prices-from-today-1659326025907">LPG</a>), it said.

Auto and taxi drivers in Delhi have decided to go on a two-day strike from Monday as they protest against the rising fuel prices.
Even as Maharashtra saw a strike from Ola and Uber taxi drivers.
Cab drivers' unions have been demanding a hike in fare rates and a reduction in CNG prices.
The unions have refused to call of their strike despite an announcement by the Delhi government to form a committee to consider fare revision in a time-bound manner.
General secretary of the Delhi Auto Rickshaw Sangh, Rajendra Soni, said the "unprecedented" hike in rates of CNG has taken a toll auto and cab drivers.
"We know that the Delhi government is forming some committee but we need solutions to our problems which is not in sight. We are demanding that the government (Centre and Delhi) provide Rs 35 per kg subsidy on CNG prices," he said.
Hundreds of auto, taxi and cab drivers staged a protest at the Delhi Secretariat recently demanding subsidy on CNG prices.
There are over 90,000 autos and more than 80,000 registered taxis complementing the public transport system in the city.
The price of CNG is currently Rs 71.61 per kg in Delhi.

The city gas utility Mahanagar Gas on Thursday announced a steep reduction in the retail price of CNG by Rs 6 per kg and piped gas by Rs 3.50 per scm, effective Friday, even as the Centre more than doubled the price of domestically-produced natural gas earlier in the day.
In a statement on Thursday, MGL said consequent to the reduction in VAT on natural gas from 13.5 per cent to 3 per cent from April 1 by the state government, MGL has decided to pass on the entire benefit to end-consumers.
Accordingly, the retail price of compressed natural gas (CNG) is cut by Rs 6 to Rs 60 per kg and domestic piped natural gas (PNG) by Rs 3.50 to Rs 36/scm in and around Mumbai effective Friday, it said.
When asked for a reaction to the price hike by the Centre for the producers, an MGL spokesperson told PTI that the company will evaluate the impact of the massive increase in supply prices in the due course of time and revise its retail prices accordingly.

This is the maximum price that Reliance Industries Ltd and its partner BP plc are entitled to for the gas they produce from deepsea blocks such as KG-D6.
The increase in gas price is likely to result in a 10-11 per cent rise in CNG and piped cooking gas rates in cities such as Delhi and Mumbai, industry sources said.
It will also lead a rise in cost of generating electricity but consumers may not feel any major pinch as the share of power produced from gas is very low.

Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) has revised the compressed natural gas (CNG) and piped natural gas (PNG) in Delhi and neighbouring cities of Noida, Greater Noida and Ghaziabad with effect from Sunday, August 28, 2021.CNG prices were raised by Rs.45.20 in Delhi while PNG prices were hiked by Rs.30.91. Prices in&nbsp;Noida, Greater Noida and Ghaziabad&nbsp;for CNG price now stands at Rs.50.90 per kg, and the revised PNG price is Rs.30.86 per SCM.

With the petrol-diesel and LPG prices already skyrocketing, there is more bad news for common folks. The prices of CNG used in vehicles as well as PNG (Piped Natural Gas) which is the domestic cooking fuel, have been hiked. The new prices came into effect from 6 am on Tuesday. Indraprastha Gas Limited has said that it has increased the price of CNG by 70 paise/kg in Delhi-NCR. The price of CNG in Delhi has now gone up to Rs 43.40 per kg. At the same time, CNG has reached Rs 49.08 per kg in Noida, Greater Noida and Ghaziabad. IGL has also increased the prices of PNG in Delhi-NCR by 91 paise. The new price of PNG in Delhi was Rs 28.41 per scm.
