In a recent study, kids who consumed the recommended five or more portions of fruits and vegetables a day had the highest mental well-being scores.

A new study has discovered that children who eat a healthier diet rich in fruits and vegetables had improved mental health. The study's findings were published in the British Medical Publication's Nutrition Prevention and Health journal.

The research team examined data from almost 9,000 children in 50 schools (7,570 secondary and 1,253 primary school children). For the study, children reported their dietary choices and took part in age-appropriate tests of mental well-being that covered cheerfulness, relaxation and having good interpersonal relationships.
As per the findings, children who ate five or more servings of fruits and vegetables per day had the best mental health ratings. Researchers also found that children who ate a healthy breakfast and lunch experienced better well-being over those who only had a snack or drink.

 TikTok is being sued by the parents of a girl who participated in an online 'blackout challenge' which resulted in her death.  
The challenge asked people to choke themselves until they black out.  
Nylah Anderson, the victim of the challenge, was found unconscious in her bedroom in suburban Philadelphia on December 7. She was admitted to intensive care and died five days later.  
The Anderson family has sued the social media platform of marketing a 'defective product' and 'negligence'. They say that the dangerous dare was thrust in front of the unsuspecting child on her 'for you' page. 
The complaint says that the 'algorithm determined that the deadly blackout challenge was well-tailored and likely to be of interest to Nylah Anderson'.  
TikTok in a statement issued a after Anderson's death said that 'this disturbing challenge which people seem to learn about from sources other than TikTok, long predates our platform'.  According to reports, at least four children have died as a result of the challenge.

Based on interviews with 185 children, researchers found that&nbsp;teaching children to understand other people's perspectives could make it easier for them to learn how to forgive other people.&nbsp;A good starting point is getting kids to explain the rationale behind their actions and how this might make other people feel, explained the team.&nbsp;&nbsp;
Published in the Journal of Experimental Psychology, the&nbsp;study also found that teaching children to make sincere apologies can help them receive forgiveness from others.&nbsp;Children are also more likely to forgive someone if they are part of their &lsquo;group&rsquo; or friend circle.&nbsp;&nbsp;
All in all,&nbsp;building empathy and apologising meaningfully helps children in learning forgiveness.
