Talking to reporters after the meeting, Bhujbal said he had an elaborate discussion with the CM on the prevailing political and social atmosphere in the state.

Senior NCP leader Chhagan Bhujbal, who is sulking over not being included in the new Mahayuti government in Maharashtra, met Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis here on Monday.
Talking to reporters after the meeting, Bhujbal said he had an elaborate discussion with the CM on the prevailing political and social atmosphere in the state.
The former state minister was accompanied by his nephew Sameer Bhujbal during the nearly 30-minute meeting with Fadnavis at the latter&rsquo;s &lsquo;Sagar&rsquo; bungalow in Mumbai.
&ldquo;Fadnavis told me that the Other Backward Classes have played an important role in the landslide victory of the Mahayuti in the assembly elections (held on November 20) and he will take care that the OBC community&rsquo;s interest is not harmed,&rdquo; Chhagan Bhujbal said.
He also said Fadnavis has sought some time to think over the issues pertaining to OBCs.
&ldquo;He (Fadnavis) said he would arrive at some decision in 10 to 12 days,&rdquo; the NCP leader added.
OBC leaders are opposed to activist Manoj Jarange&rsquo;s demand for reservation for the Maratha community in the Other Backward Class (Kunbi) category. Bhujbal has also been vocal about his opposition to the demand.
Asked if he was planning to switch over to the BJP, Chhagan Bhujbal refused to elaborate and said he had already spoken his mind on the issue of him being ignored in the ministry expansion.
On Sunday, representatives of OBC organisations from different parts of Maharashtra met him in the city.
The NCP leader, who represents the Yevla constituency in Nashik district, did not attend the winter session of the state legislature that concluded in Nagpur on Saturday. He left for Nashik on the first day of the session, a day after 39 Mahayuti MLAs took oath as ministers.
The Mahayuti, comprising the BJP, Shiv Sena led by Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar&rsquo;s NCP, won 230 of the 288 seats in the state assembly polls held last month.

Senior NCP leader Chhagan Bhujbal, who is disappointed at not being included in the new Mahayuti government in Maharashtra, has claimed he was offered a Rajya Sabha berth eight days ago but he rejected it.
Talking to reporters in Nagpur on Monday, Bhujbal, the legislator from Yeola in Nashik district, said he rejected the Rajya Sabha seat proposal as it would amount to betrayal of his assembly constituency which he won in the state polls last month.
&ldquo;When I wanted to be in the Rajya Sabha earlier this year, I was told that I should fight the assembly elections. I was offered the Rajya Sabha berth eight days ago which I rejected. I said I could consider the Rajya Sabha option after one or two years but not immediately,&rdquo; the former state minister added.
Bhujbal said he had not spoken to NCP head and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar after being denied the state cabinet berth.

&ldquo;I stood up for the Other Backward Classes community when the Maratha quota activist was demanding its inclusion in the OBC category. The Ladki Bahin scheme and OBCs helped the Mahayuti win the elections,&rdquo; he said.
Asked about his future course, Bhujbal, who left for Nashik after the assembly session proceedings in Nagpur were adjourned for the day on Monday, said, &ldquo;Let&rsquo;s see. Jahan nahi chaina, wahan nahi rehna.&rdquo; Bhujbal, who served as the food and civil supplies minister in the previous Mahayuti government, said he was upset at not being included in the new cabinet.
&ldquo;I am an ordinary political worker. It doesn&rsquo;t matter if I am sidelined or rewarded,&rdquo; he said.
&ldquo;Ministerial berths come and go, but I cannot be finished off,&rdquo; the NCP leader added.
A total of 39 legislators from Mahayuti allies &ndash; BJP, Shiv Sena and NCP &ndash; were sworn in on Sunday in the first cabinet expansion of the Devendra Fadnavis-led government. Ten former ministers were dropped from the cabinet, and 16 new faces have been introduced.
Former ministers Bhujbal and Dilip Walse Patil of the NCP and Sudhir Mungantiwar and Vijaykumar Gavit of the BJP were some prominent leaders who didn&rsquo;t make it.

The Pune Police crime branch has detained a 24-year-old man named Prashant Patil for issuing a death threat to senior NCP leader and Maharashtra Minister Chhagan Bhujbal who was recently inducted into the Eknath Shinde-led cabinet, an official said on July, 11.
On July, 10 night the accused called Bhujbals&rsquo;s personal assistant and claimed to have gotten &lsquo;supari&rsquo; (contract) to kill the minister. A formal complaint was filed by Bhujbal&rsquo;s PA. "An offence was registered against the person and during the investigation, his location was traced to Mahad in neighbouring Raigad district," the police official said. The police detained the man from Mahad. In the preliminary investigation it has been found that under the influence of alcohol, Patil made the death threat. Bhujbal along with eight other NCP MLAs including Ajit Pawar, joined the government on July 2.
