The 44th Chess Olympiad is currently under way in Chennai and various districts to Tamil Nadu have been promoting the tournament in their own unique way. 
The Pudukkottai district administration has impressed everyone with over 2-minute video in which classical dancers are playing the role of chess pieces. 
The video was first shared by Tamil Nadu chief minister MK Stalin on July 27th and he wrote that the video featured classical, folk, Mal Yutham and Silambam artists.
It has also received praise by businessman Anand Mahindra who praised the officials for bringing chess to life. 
The video has now gone viral with people praising the Pudukkottai district administration for depicting Indian tradition and culture. 
The 44th Chess Olympiad was inaugurated by the Prime Minister last week and it will go on till August 10.

Pakistan has backed out of the 44th Chess Olympiad being held in Chennai accusing India of trying to politicise the tournament by holding the torch relay in Jammu and Kashmir. 
The relay was held in Srinagar on June 21.
Pakistan in a statement said that by holding the Chess Olympiad torch relay in Srinagar India had utterly disregarded the 'globally acknowledged disputed status of the territory' and committed an international travesty. 
Pakistan accused India of a 'mischievous attempt to mix politics with sports' and said it will take up the matter with the International Chess Federation. 
The neighbouring country also raised the issue of abrogation of Article 370 and urged international community to call upon India to reverse the decision.

In&nbsp;one of the most dramatic turn of events&nbsp;India were awarded the Chess Olympiad gold medal jointly with Russia due to server crash towards the end moments of the final. India was on the brink of a historic win on Sunday, but the 2 Indian players were declared to have lost on time in the final round after an apparent loss of internet connection for them. But after India lodged an official appeal against the result,&nbsp;chess' governing body President decided to award the gold medal to both the countries. It was the first time that India won a gold at the Chess Olympiad.&nbsp;As some sporting events have switched to online competitions,&nbsp;the international chess federation was holding the Olympiad in an online format for the first time.&nbsp;
