Virginie Viard is leaving her role as artistic director of the French luxury fashion house Chanel after five years. She assumed the position in 2019 following Karl Lagerfeld&rsquo;s death, having worked with him at Chanel for decades. In a press statement to CNN, Chanel confirmed Viard&rsquo;s departure, noting that during her tenure, she successfully renewed the house's codes while respecting its creative heritage, following nearly thirty years within the brand.

Viard began her journey at Chanel as an intern in 1987 and eventually became Lagerfeld's deputy for many years. Their collaboration was so strong that the German designer referred to her as "my right arm and my left arm."
Lagerfeld, a legendary figure in the fashion industry, had a profound impact with his passing in 2019. Although he was also leading Fendi and his own label at the time, it was his extensive work at Chanel that earned him the most acclaim.
Viard's departure has been rumoured for a while, creating a major vacancy in high-end fashion. Last year, the fashion insider newsletter Line Sheet reported that Viard&rsquo;s role at Chanel "was always intended to be temporary," with Nicolas Ghesqui&egrave;re, the creative director at Louis Vuitton, being considered for the position.

A shocking incident from Paris has caught the limelight and will remind you of the 'Dhoom 3' film. The video of an incident shows that a group of 4 men who were all masked, wore helmets, and carried assault rifles with them were robbing the Chanel shop and nearby jewelry shops at Rue de la Paix, close to Place Vendome.Three of them were inside the store, while the fourth stayed outside the store with an automatic gun slung over his chest. The burglars casually exited the store with filled bags and fled on two motorbikes even while runners and traffic continued to pass by at a normal rate.The entire incident was fully planned and it took burglars only 10 minutes to rob everything. Following the incident, police cordoned off the area shortly and the store will be closed temporarily.

In a movie-like heist in France's capital city Paris, some persons robbed a swanky Chanel store. One of the witnesses captured the entire crime on camera.
The video, widely shared on social media, showed 4 individuals dressed in black robbing the jewellery and watch store at Rue de la Paix, close to Place Vendome.
While three of the robbers collected the bounty, the fourth stood watch outside with an automatic rifle. The heist lasted around 10 minutes, before the thieves casually exited the store and escaped on their two-wheelers
All this as normal activity continued in the area. The incident occurred on May 5, with police yet to announce any arrests, 5 days later.

Although price adjustments are a common practice once a year,&nbsp;this is&nbsp;Chanel&rsquo;s&nbsp;fourth or fifth price hike on&nbsp;certain&nbsp;products since the start of the pandemic.

For instance, the price of Chanel&rsquo;s&nbsp;small classic flap bag&nbsp;has increased by 60 per cent since November 2019, now costing $8,200 or around&nbsp;₹6,18,000.&nbsp;The larger variant of the same bag costs&nbsp;$9,500 (₹7,15,000), up from $7,400 (₹5,57,000) in June 2021.
For&nbsp;some&nbsp;perspective, the infamously expensive Birkin&nbsp;by&nbsp;French luxury brand&nbsp;Herm&egrave;s&nbsp;now costs about $115 (₹8,600), less than the medium-sized Chanel flap bag.
<h3>Why is Chanel going gaga with price hikes?&nbsp;&nbsp;</h3>
Chanel says the hikes are in response to unspecified exchange-rate fluctuations, changes in production costs and to ensure its handbags cost roughly the same around the world.
Industry experts say essentially&nbsp;Chanel&nbsp;wants&nbsp;to become more exclusive, as part of an effort to become as or even more iconic than the Birkin or Kelly bag by&nbsp;long-time&nbsp;rival Herm&egrave;s.
