A police officer said that 39-year-old Suchana Seth gave heavy doses of cough syrups to her four-year-old son before putting him to death.

The Goa police believe that the 39-year-old Suchana Seth might have sedated her son with cough syrup before executing the crime, indicating that it might be a pre-planned murder.&nbsp;
A senior police officer told PTI news agency on Tuesday that a cleaning staff found two empty bottles&mdash;a small and a large bottle&mdash;of cough syrup in her at Goa's Candolim.&nbsp;
Police say that Seth might have given a heavy dose of cough syrup to the child, and then smothered to him death either using a cloth or a pillow.&nbsp;
"The post-mortem conducted on the body has indicated the possibility that the child might have been smothered to death and there were no signs of struggle," the unnamed cop told PTI.
"We are examining the possibility if the woman gave a heavy dose of cough syrup to the child before putting him to death," the official added.
During their inquriy with the service apartment staff, the cops found that the woman had asked them to buy a small bottle of cough syrup, claiming that she was having a cough. The cop said that the bigger bottle might have been carried by her.
"It looks like a pre-planned murder," the officer was quoted as saying.
The cop's assertions contradict Seth's statements who, during her interrogation, reportedly claimed that her son died during his sleep and that she did not know how her son died.&nbsp;
"We don't buy her theory. Further investigation will reveal the motive behind killing the child. As of now, we know that she and her husband were estranged because of which she might have done this," another senior police officer told PTI.
Seth, the chief executive officer (CEO) of an artificial intelligence start-up, was CAUGHT in Karnataka's Chitradurga region on Monday night while she was on her way to Bengaluru. The boy's body was found in a luggage.&nbsp;

Suchana Seth, the 34-year-old CEO who allegedly killed her four-year-old son, was sent to a six-day police custody on Tuesday. The accused woman was caught in Karnataka's Chitradurga region when she was trying to flee with the kid's body.&nbsp;
Earlier in the afternoon, she was brought to Goa and produced before a court in Mapusa town. An FIR was registered against Seth at the Calangute police station in Goa under Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections 302 (murder) and 201 (destruction of evidence), and also under the Goa Children&rsquo;s Act.
&ldquo;The court remanded the accused to six days of police custody,&rdquo; a police officer told PTI news agency.
Meanwhile, the body of the four-year-old has been sent for post-mortem examination.
&ldquo;The body of the 4-year-old boy found has been shifted to the government hospital in Aimangala. After the postmortem of the body, it will be handed over to Goa Police,&rdquo; mentioned Kumar Naik, Health Inspector at Hiriyur Government Hospital in Karnataka&rsquo;s Chitradurga district, ANI news agency reported.
Suchana Seth, a Bengaluru resident and co-founder of the startup Mindful AI Lab, was caught on Monday while fleeing in a taxi to Karnataka. She was detained in Chitradurga, about 204 km from Bengaluru. The cops found the kid's body stuffed in a bag.
During a preliminary interrogation, Suchana Seth cited her &ldquo;estranged relationship&rdquo; with husband Venkat Raman as one of the reasons for the extreme action. Raman is currently in Indonesia, and as per reports, he has not been informed of the crime at the time of writing this report.
Police told the NDTV that she was unhappy over a court order. "Their divorce proceedings are in the final stage," Nidhin Valsan, Superintendent of Police, North Goa, was quoted as saying.
The incident came to light after the cleaning staff noticed blood stains in her room and immediately informed the Calangute police.
The staff had also noted that the boy had been missing since Saturday when the mother-son duo checked into the luxury apartment.
