Pepperfry co-founder's sudden cardiac arrest sparks concern over young Indians' heart health and risks at high altitude, know all about it.

The recent passing of Ambareesh Murty, co-founder of Pepperfry, due to a sudden cardiac arrest (SCA), prompts inquiries into the increasing incidents of such events, even among physically fit individuals.&nbsp;
Despite being an experienced biker who frequently visited places like Leh, he passed away after suffering cardiac arrest. This has raised the question that why are active young Indians susceptible to cardiac arrest.&nbsp;
This phenomenon is attributed to the lack of heart assessments post the age of 40, neglecting insights into its condition and ability to handle unfamiliar physical exertion or stress.&nbsp;
Sudden cardiac arrest can be triggered by factors like reduced oxygen levels in challenging environments, particularly impacting those with pre-existing heart issues or underlying health conditions. While Murty's heart health remains largely unknown beyond his biking pursuits, specific risks are heightened in vulnerable individuals who opt for direct flights to Leh as opposed to road travel.
High Altitude Pulmonary Edema, a condition where lung blood vessels constrict, leading to fluid leakage into air sacs, can induce hypoxia (low blood oxygen levels) and potentially precipitate sudden cardiac arrest.&nbsp;

Former MP R Dhruvanarayaana passes away after cardiac arrest

He was also a member of the Karnataka Assembly twice in 2004 and 2008.

Congress' Karnataka unit working president and former MP R Dhruvanarayana passed away on Saturday morning at the age of 61, family sources said.
The leader had complained of chest pain and his driver rushed him immediately to hospital but he did not survive, the sources said.
Rangaswamy Dhruvanarayana had represented Chamarajanagar constituency twice in 2009 and 2014. He was a leader who withstood the Narendra Modi wave in 2014 and made his way to the Lok Sabha. However, luck did not favour him in 2019.
He was also a member of the Karnataka Assembly twice in 2004 and 2008.

A 16-year-old girl died of cardiac arrest at a school in Madhya Pradesh's Indore, officials said on Friday.
Vrinda Tripathi, a Class 11 student, fell unconscious and died at her school on Wednesday, the deceased girl's uncle Raghvendra Tripathi told PTI.
The girl was absolutely fine and had gone to school to rehearse for a Republic Day event, when she collapsed, he said.
According to doctors, the girl had died before being brought to the hospital.

He said, &ldquo;The things that worry me today are young people like Siddharth Shukla and Puneet Rajkumar are succumbing to cardiac arrests. This is a problem not only of the rich and elite people but also of every individual in our country. We have some shocking facts! People in our country are dying and having coronary artery diseases 10 years earlier than the American European and Japanese counterparts. What could be the probable reasons for that?&rdquo;&nbsp;
Stating the reasons, he said, &ldquo;Most importantly our diet, faulty lifestyle, sedentary habits, lack of exercise and moreover today&rsquo;s youth is engaging in a lot of addictive substances like tobacco, cigarettes, alcohol and a lot of psychotropic drugs. Drug abuse is one of the most important causes of sudden cardiac arrests and deaths. You might be shocked to know that the youngest individual that I have treated is a 17-year-old boy with a major heart attack, he was abusing cocaine. We did an angioplasty on him in the most important artery called the left ventricle artery and saved is life but this problem does remain.&rdquo;&nbsp;
